when i ask a question about religion , because i am an athiest and want to know why they believe what they believe , i get people who read me verses from the bible . when i ask a question all i want is an answer not a reference to romans or luke .( i havnt read the bible in years so i forgot the rest ) . like every question i ask they will say well in romans 3:16 there is a reference . ( i dont even know if that exists ) . look , the bible is all sybolism . i dont like symbolism so it bothers me when i ask a question to get a person who reads me a chapter in the bible .

Because religious people cannot think for themselves, they find it too uncomfortable.

When you ask a religious question you get a reference to a religious book. The book is online its not that hard to find the reference. I sympathize with your dislike for symbolism but it's what they think most efficiently answers your question. If you ask a question about law you will often get a reference to a penal code or a defining case. It's just what somebody thinks will answer you most completely.
I understand your problem and the only thing I can suggest is to add a line to your question "please do not answer me with scripture"

Because the Bible is final authority...not symbolism...and when you ask a question about religion what kind of answer are you expecting? you have obviously made your mind up...you don't believe in God so the Bible has to be a lie...but you are wrong...i'm sure people will thumbs down my answer...but I don't care.. God IS real, Jesus is alive, the Bible is final authority...and those who don't believe on (not just in) the Lord Jesus Christ face eternity in a literal, burning hell !

I am a believer but not Christian I am Jewish. I thinnk it is unfair to say Christians read you verses from the Bible, so does everyone. You don't understand that the Bible is the backbone of all of our religions/

I can understand that, and I respect it. That's why I don't quote scripture unless the question calls for it.
Some Christians do that simply because it's all they know, as far as religion goes anyway. But not all Christians are like that.

No! I don't quote from the bible. What's important is to know what that passage is saying or what Jesus is saying rather than remembering the quote!
