BEST EXPLANATION EVER!
A man went to a barbershop to have his
hair cut and his beard trimmed.

As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.

They talked about so many things and various subjects.

When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:

"I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer. "Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.

Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?

Would there be abandoned children?

If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.

I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the
street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.

"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."

"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

Yeah. I've seen that one before. I love "The Atheist Experience" -- especially the main host, Matt Dillahunty. Those folks make mince meat of religion on a regular basis. And it can be very entertaining listening to the faith-filled callers make the most illogical arguments that one can possibly conceive. Great stuff!

Wait don't we already pray for help for with diseases that we do not have a solution to slow down or rid of? Yet I have been told Jesus healed the cripple and yet we pray and no response.

For those that agree with this, is this how you would read your bible just skip to the "holy" stuff without looking at the whole picture or even try to grasp the whole picture?

Child's story.

Adults aren't impressed by this kind of nonsense. It just reinforces the fact that god doesn't exist. If you had any good arguments - or better yet, evidence - for the existence of a god, you'd be posting this, rather than Sunday School fables.

Customers have to pay the barbers to get services; believers have to pay the church to know the truth.

No money no talk $$$$$

It's a cute little story, that really doesn't have a point. You see, if I needed to find a barber, I could. Gods on the other hand...they hide better than Waldo.

That is a typicaly simple and childlike analogy that seems to be enough hard eveidence and sound logic to confirm the existance of god in the minds of those who are so easily led, and who lack the skills of initiative and reason..

Grow up, and take a look at your selves. You're an embarrassment to the concept of a sentient mind...!!!

I get it. So things like birth defects and childhood leukemia happen because "people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help". God kills little babies with horrible diseases to make a point.

This is a truly twisted philosophy.

If I understand you point right. You re telling me that people that pray to god and go to church don't get sick or are poor. All the sick and poor [including little children] are not praying to god enough? Conclusion all sick people are Atheist all healthy people are good god fearing xians.

using a barber is a ridiculous comparison to something that you cannot see

Clever analogy. It was entertaining. It still doesn't settle anything though. Just reminds people of the christian philosophy of "Our way is the only correct way."
