Morals aren't gained socialy, Most people wouldn't hesitate to save other people if they could, i don't think cats would, maybe some primates would.

Actually, moral would develop through evolution.

Have you ever noticed that most of the behaviours/values that we consider "moral" are conducive to the continuation of society and the species as a whole:

Don' kill
Don't steal
Women and children first, etc...

-these are pragmatic values for the overall success of social creatures

Under evolution, there may have been mutations and societies where non-conducive behaviors developed: such societies/mutations are doomed to failure in competition against the former.

In such a case, behaviors and rules conducive to success would be reinforced over generations. These would become the morals you speak of.

Morals were gained through religion, religion brought ethics to society.

its only another way of protecting the specie..its common to all mammals...we are just a bit complicated with our instinctive behavior...
