I'm a member of the Church of Christ and I believe the Trinity doctrine is a man-made invention, and that baptism is necessary for salvation (according to Mark 16:16,Acts 2:38, and Romans 6:1-7). Does anyone else have suspicions regarding majority of churches' teachings today?

...is Allah more than willing to hear and answer the prayers of radical muslims than Yahweh does in listening to the prayers of Americans in view of the recent disasters and calamities happening in the U.S.?

Not meaning to be offensive to anyone, but just something to spark a discussion about in R&S in terms of spirituality.

Peace!

What are your thoughts on this?

A new Heaven and a New Earth and

God will be with men this earth will pass away

Not so much on this subject

I think we should concider this...............

Revelation 21

1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:

for the first heaven and the first earth were

passed away; and there was no more sea.

2And I John saw the holy city, new

Jerusalem, coming down from God out of

heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her

husband.

3And I heard a great voice out of heaven

saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is

with men, and he will dwell with them, and

they shall be his people, and God himself

shall be with them, and be their God.

First of all, I'm a Christian, but something about my fellow Christians has been bothering me lately. Why do so many people quote the Bible to non-believers as evidence? If we're trying to reach out to them, why do we throw out an argument they couldn't possibly accept? Why are Christians surprised when they reject the argument that the Bible is right because the Bible says so? Please, this is a serious question and not meant to offend anyone.

please read to the END ok...because for many of the Qs i have asked only about 2 people read to the end and gave an appropriate answer.the rest just babbled on.

why do most christians try to get others to believe in God? christianity is pretty well known and when people say they don't believe in it,the MEAN it..because they've heard the same thing over and over again....i mean it was different in the ancient times ..that was people's "duty" to tell others the good news....

but now that christianity is well known, why don't you just let PEOPLE decide for themselves whether they want to convert or not and NOT talk about it unless ASKED?

because what you're saying to people isn't something they HAVEN'T heard....the only thing you're accomplishing is actually pushing people AWAY from christianity ...

so why can't you mind your own business?

I mean to what extent should we be Christlike in order to go to heaven ? 60% likeness? Will that do? Below that level, will God forgive my sin and grant me eternal life, as "His Mercy and Grace"?
Serious responses only please.

The last time I asked this, very few people decided to answer the question with a direct answer. No surpirse

The Biblical account of Noah says that God warned Noah about His plans to flood the Earth, because Noah was a good man, and He wanted Noah to be saved from God's wrath.

The Qur'anic account of Noah says that God flooded the Earth because Noah asked Him to kill all the non-believers:

"[71.26] And Nuh said: My Lord! leave not upon the land any dweller from among the unbelievers!"

This is one of the many differences between Biblical and Qur'anic accounts. Muslims insist it is because Jews changed the Bible. Anything in the Qur'an which does not agree with the Bible is automatically classified as corruption at the hands of evil liars who change God's word.

EVEN IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THE STORY OF NOAH, *which version* do you believe is authentic...the merciful God who spares law abiding people, or the God who kills people at the request of law abiding people?
Clear?

Not finished with this yet, but this is what i have so far. any ideas thoughts input would be nice thanks

You are my heart and soul the savior of my life
you are my hot and cold; the darkness and the light
I realize I cannot walk this scattered path alone.
I realize if I just believe
in your arms I will always have a home.
And when the times get rough
I know that you are there
And when I make mistakes
I know that you still care
You come to me with open arms
to lift my head back high
you wipe my tears away and say
its okay I’m here for you don’t cry
you guide me back to the path
that you have planned for me
You have my back no matter what
as long as I believe
you are my heart & soul the savior of my life
you are my hot and cold; the darkness & the light

I’m just picturing what it would be like if the Atheist movement gained strength in western countries, a pipe dream I know, but I’m sure it would be radically different to Atheism in China and the former Soviet Union. I’m sick of the well worn response that believers keep bringing up that Atheism has already been tried and that it goes hand in hand with communism and oppression. But we western Atheists with our love of democracy and liberty wouldn’t let that happen, wouldn’t we?

I am not sure which category I fit in. I find that abortion used in such a way as birth control is morally wrong, but at the same time I do realize that without abortion people will seek out means to abort the child themselves which will cause both harm to the mother and the baby. This is one of the reasons why I support abortion despite that I find the entire procedure to be murderous.

I also believe that in the event that the mother is at risk of death, or that the baby is at risk of severe deformity that abortion is likewise moral.

I find that the term pro choice seems to be a bit liberal for me as I see abortion used in ways of birth control as murder of a potential developed human being. Yet, I do not quite fit the profile of a pro life advocate.. Is there a middle ground?

I see so many "Christians" go around living their lives just like the rest of the world. They think they can do anything they want and then ask for forgiveness and all is good. That is not what grace is all about, Yes when we first come to know Jesus as our Savior, when we say the prayer of salvation every sin we had commited up to that point is gone. That does not cover future sins like many think, we must ask forgiveness for every sin after we commit it. Also if you sin thinking it is alright God will forgive me, you are playing with fire. That is called premeditated grace and it is tempting God, the Bible says "do not tempt the Lord thy God."
King David was a man who sinned a lot and yet was known as a man after Gods own heart. How can that be? He always wanted to please God and when he failed, he repented. David the sinner he was, was holy as God is holy.
In order to be holy you must live a truly repentant life.

Will the Red indians who were killed in USA by the early settlers about 500 years ago go to hell as they did not Know and had not excepted Christ, will the Aborignes who were subject to Genocide killed about 200years ago in Australia by European settlers go to hell as they were not Christians. Will the many tribal communities of Africa go to hell who do not believe in christ ,will the Victims Of the A bombs of Japan go to hell as most of them were Buddhists. How can you also Expect 70 percent of the non believers to believe in Christ whenever I ask that in this forum the only answer you have his you must have faith or else go to hell ,as if OTHER RELIGIONS ARE FALSE & HAVE NO VALUE
Many tribals can’t even pronounce modern Languages,
And those who haven’t heard the Gospel will be judged by their hearts and others who have refused will go to hell, just because the missionaries cannot prove the Bible to them.

What kind of God do you believe in that instead of punishing man for his folly,he forsaked his countless generations to forces of nature,( would you be able to forgive your parents if they threw you out on the streets as a punishment and in the future if you became a criminal they would come back and say sinner For your crimes we will punish you)
(Your interpretation of such a heartless God amazes me,see other religions where they state that you will be judged only by your good and bad deeds by Higher authorities)

and after that he is going to send billions of human souls who did not believe the words of his supposed son carried out by missionaries throughout the world (what the Bible Glows and the other holy books remain the same ,if you put a cross on a deadbody it comesback to life and if you put other holy symbols they remain dead )

Countless mythologies state that Gods had walked on this planet and had come to help men in Severe crisis’s (all you can say various faiths are work of the Devil
I say if they are ,Then why Did your all mighty God allow them to be created in the first place) How can you prove that many Gods may not exist Except saying Have faith and the bible states so
And the worst part is many of you still believe all have to just except Christian doctrine,
Or they will face damnation.AND another fact to your surprise
People of Spain were neither Christians or Muslims they had a sperate religion first
They were converted to Islam by the Morracan Army.
Next when your Christian armies came they converted them to Christianity By the use of The SPANISH RACK (which was a Torture Device on Which more Than A 100 THOUSAND people were tortured until They Converted to Christianity) Under orders of the Church seeing the Torture Victims many others converted Guess even the Church knew that People would not understand Christianity Without Coercion now would they
And so know 90% of Spain is Christian a miracle isn’t it

"If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives." Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NIV

A rapist has to marry the girl he raped, that's pretty obvious. Throughout the whole Bible, the feelings of women have never really mattered, so this question is not about that.

But what if he's already married to another woman? How does that work? Does the father of the girl at least get his 50 shekels of silver?
