The teen was told by the pastor that he had two choices in order to make it into heaven...be celibate, or marry a woman and basically live a lie...

Not being able to live a lie...the teen decides to take his own life..he spells out his reason in a suicide note...he says he has always "felt" gay from childhood...however, he cannot live with the disappointment of his parents and church...and feeling there is no way to change...and that he would ultimatly sin...he pulls the trigger.

This really happend...should pastors be required to take additional psychology classes, etc...to recognize the signs of a troubled youth?

Is it right for a pastor to pass his belief and interpretation of scripture to a person as absolute fact? Especially, a child who is weak in his own being, faith and years?

Your thoughts?

In the last 15 years I have heard tons of people say that their deceased love one is now and angel. Where does this believe originate. I am now Muslim and don't believe it. I grew up Orthodox Christian and we didn't believe that either but some people follow that concept nonetheless. I just wanted to know when it started and who started it. References would be great! Thanks in advance.

But if I do not have love.............?

a couple of weeks ago when the VT slayings happened i got very peeved with a lot of the non-christians saying "where was your god when this happened", and stated that hopefully the souls of the slain went to a place better than this "5hit hole called earth"....i visited a link on wicca and realized something that is one of their "5"...that the Earth is a divine creation, and when i said that about the earth, i insulted my God as well!
also, i take self-responsibility for the outburst---please know that i really don't believe that is how a christian is supposed to act, i let my own emotions get in the way.

so that i do not get a violation, how do you cope with the way our societies seem to be heading? i purposely do not have any children because i do not want to raise them in this world...i love kids, i just choose to have none...anyone else feel this way?

For a debate on scriptures. Do I go directly to the church or are there things I need to do before I am allowed in the Catholic church?

Any info would be great, but only answer if you can help otherwise it'd just be pointless!

thanks

I mean, if you believe in no higher power, Being or God(s), then isn't being "spiritual" kind of like drinking non-alcoholic beer?
