a couple of weeks ago when the VT slayings happened i got very peeved with a lot of the non-christians saying "where was your god when this happened", and stated that hopefully the souls of the slain went to a place better than this "5hit hole called earth"....i visited a link on wicca and realized something that is one of their "5"...that the Earth is a divine creation, and when i said that about the earth, i insulted my God as well!
also, i take self-responsibility for the outburst---please know that i really don't believe that is how a christian is supposed to act, i let my own emotions get in the way.
so that i do not get a violation, how do you cope with the way our societies seem to be heading? i purposely do not have any children because i do not want to raise them in this world...i love kids, i just choose to have none...anyone else feel this way?

Smoke: that's funny, Wiccans don't believe that either.

I can point you at an eloquent speech that talks about how kids don't respect their parents, the social values are crumbling and the things were better in the past and only getting worse.
It was written by Plato.
I don't see society heading downhill. Society marches slowly toward justice. If you look at the past OBJECTIVELY, you'll see it was bad then, too.
No apology required, by the way. Most Wiccans understand that those of other faiths often HAVE to see this world as terrible, because that gives them hopes for their afterlife.

I began following Wicca a couple of months earlier than I grew to become sixteen, and my mother's recognized because the establishing of my study. Of path, I've consistently had an excessively open dating with my mother, and she or he's an excessively open minded character, so I had not anything to fear approximately whilst I grew to be Wiccan. The challenge with minors practising Wicca is more often than not that their mom and dad do not approve, and it could be irresponsible to inspire minors to mislead their mom and dad and train Wicca at the back of their mom and dad' backs. It's additionally disrespectful to the gods to lie for your mom and dad with the equal mouth you utilize to wish to them, so, sure, you will have to inform them. If they let you know no, do not do the immature factor and sneak it besides, and do not whine and whinge due to the fact you'll be able to most effective end up their factor. You can argue in a mature, grownup style (as in a rational argument in which no person finally ends up screaming at every different and calling every different names; make your facets and pay attention to theirs), or you'll be able to wait 3 years and simply research what you'll be able to for the period of that point. The Lord and Lady fully grasp in case your mom and dad don't seem to be open to it, and Wicca will nonetheless be there whilst you're an grownup. Venus Bless

That was a great apology, as far as I'm concerned. Though I'm not Wiccan, I'm strictly Celtic Pagan. =>
I deal with life as it comes. Things like the VT shootings and other situations like that, make it hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel... but one shouldn't let things like that get the better of them. I deal with a lot of stressful things like this thru speaking with family and friends and a lot of meditation when I feel it's overwhelming. I have one child of my own and wished I could have had more, but circumstances don't allow it. As I see it though, it may be my kid who grows up and finds a way to fix a problem we all deal with in society. Or maybe, just maybe, he'll become the first Pagan Pres hehe... I don't like things that happen in the world, like VT, but I refuse to allow that to stop me from enjoying this life, and my kid is one of my major joys in this life. =>

"i purposely do not have any children because i do not want to raise them in this world"
Analyze your statement very carefully.
This means you lack faith in one or both of the following:
1. Your ability to raise children under your own Christian morals.
2. That God will protect your children from the evils in this world.
What is the first command that God gave mankind?
Hint: It wasn't, "Don't eat off THAT tree, suckah!"
Be fruitful and multiply. You can do it. And you'll be blessed as a result of it. God will take care of you and your descendants.

Hello ddking37:
Apology accepted. Don't worry, because we all make mistakes. It is part of the human nature.
And about the children. Look, the world is what we make of it. I grant you that many societies have work hard in the destruction of our only home: Earth.
But the future doesn't belong to us, it belongs to our children. We have to teach them true love, and respect for our HOME, and for their neighbors. The better we teach them, the more chances our world will have to recover from our mistakes.
Love and Peace to you.

Thank you for this. The reason people need to know more about other religions is so they understand different doesn't mean devil.
Society seems to be going to the dogs. No one wants to take responsibility for their actions. Parents are teaching their kids to respect other people or people's property. Honestly I debated over having my kids.

Sweetheart, it wasn't God who caused the VT Massacre...it was Cho who listened to the lies of the devil in his mind. He allowed Satan to use the pain he felt in an evil way. At least those who have died are in a better place now. As for our world going down the pisser...I fully agree, but I want kids...I am just going to try and protect them from all the junk as much as I can.

Wiccans are wicced awesome. (Tee hee, I'm wicced clever.)
Society has been circling the drain for a very long time, and we seem to be oblivious. I think it's just in our nature to destroy ourselves.
