My favourite is Andrew Bonar 1810-92. Although not as famous as his brother Horatious, the prolific hymn writer, Andrew's life and memoirs are always a challenge and a comfort for folks who are trying to walk as Jesus walked. A brilliant academic, yet a humble servant of the poor, a talented writer and a person who was always looking and living in the light of Christ's return.
