I heard Brigham Young gave a talk quoting Joseph Smith about this but I haven't been able to track it down. Is this just a lie to defame the church or is it true?

Sources, please. Thank you.

She refused to administer painkillers to patients on principle.

"Compassionate" Mother Theresa quotes:

"the suffering of the poor is something very beautiful and the world is being very much helped by the nobility of this example of misery and suffering"

"the most beautiful gift for a person that he can participate in the sufferings of Christ"

"You are suffering, that means Jesus is kissing you!"

I'm having a hard time understanding the difference between the silly stuff about mormons like magical underwear and angels appearing in New York and NON silly stuff about christians like jars of oil that never run out and rivers turning into blood. Thanks!

Yahoo news is showing that there are actually people still searching for Noah's ark, who actually believe that the story is true.

One would think that the Christian church, if no one else, would go and explain to these people that we KNOW the story, at best, is a parable.

The story of Noah's ark is not only impossible, but we KNOW its origin. Even the church admits this. How are people in this day and age still capable of wasting resources on something so silly?

I mean seriously... there needs to be a stupidity police somewhere, to point these things out to people!

Protestants say that Mormonism is a cult...

But, fundamentalists promote hate, superiority, prejudice and try to "recruit" others. They will not have dialogue with any who believes differently than they.

Again Yahoo won't allow me to personally apology to the people who reported my last question. It was deleted, which is a good thing. Somebody obviously felt offended, which must have been a horrible experience. I'm so sorry!

To those people I've hurt so badly, I owe you an explanation. I've seen many prayer requests in this section. Most of them are utterly selfish. People ask me to pray for their new job, their new cars, etc, etc.

So, I asked "in spite of the fact that today 30,000 children died of starvation and Aids, could you please pray for the tough decision I have to make in choosing between buying an iPod or a DVD player?"

To those people that were so horribly offended by me asking that: I'm very, very sorry!

To all the other people: I'm sorry too. Yahoo won't let me personally apologize to those few people, so you had to read me sorta repost the question again. Sorry. I didn't mean to repost the question, really. But Yahoo left me no choice. Sorry, ok?

If I plan to sin and execute the plan. Then later ask God to forgive me while still enjoying fruits of my sinful act, will He forgive me?

I know that there are "recovering Mormon" groups, etc...

Are there recovering Southern Baptists groups, or recovering fundamentalist groups?

Groups for people who have been so psychologically messed up by the fundamentalist movement?

Just curious...

Seriously, I'm more of a sceptic than most people you'll ever meet, but this is beginning to bug me. There is nothing, I repeat nothing, added to the debate by name calling and religion bating. If your an atheist and you call them "dumb christians" you're just as bad as the fundies calling us "hellbound," "spiritually dead" etc. If you really want to take the side of reason in a debate, you have to ACT LIKE AN ADULT! There are a half a million ways to question belief without resulting to ad hoc insults. If you feel the need to poke the fundies, for crap's sake, have a little decorum about it. If you really must (I can't imagine why) insult them, have some class and attack their arguments and deride their logic, not the people who have those thoughts. Anyone with me?

I know that Mormons believe that Jesus was here in the U.S. and communicated with the Native Americans. There was supposedly a big war between the Indians. I don't know all the details. Well if there was a big war wouldn't there be archeological proof supporting this?

Wasn't he content repeating the crap he pulled in the old testament? Gaining believers in israel, then losing them, then allowing them to be enslaved, then losing them, rinse, repeat. Why did he have to change from a murdering rampaging violent god that destroys entire cities into a loving god that worked as a carpenter, and made wine? Why the dramatic change in attitude? Is it the same person? Usually when someone has a dramatic change in behavior it is a sign that they are very unstable.

2 Peter 2:20: "For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the last state is become worse with them than the first."

Here is appears to be one who knew the truth, who lived according to it, who served the Lord and knew the blessings of the Holy Spirit yet chose to abandon these things and return to worldliness. Is that right?

If you do not "know" God or you do not acknowledge that He is - there's no need to answer. I can understand this would not interest you. Thanks.

Fossilisation is rare, yet the fossil record already uncovered is so vast and detailed.

Do they have ANY evidence to match our fossils?

Almost everyone agrees Jesus was a moral teacher, but were his lessons innovative?

If so, what concepts had never been preached before?
If not, where did the majority of his ideas come from?
