Again Yahoo won't allow me to personally apology to the people who reported my last question. It was deleted, which is a good thing. Somebody obviously felt offended, which must have been a horrible experience. I'm so sorry!

To those people I've hurt so badly, I owe you an explanation. I've seen many prayer requests in this section. Most of them are utterly selfish. People ask me to pray for their new job, their new cars, etc, etc.

So, I asked "in spite of the fact that today 30,000 children died of starvation and Aids, could you please pray for the tough decision I have to make in choosing between buying an iPod or a DVD player?"

To those people that were so horribly offended by me asking that: I'm very, very sorry!

To all the other people: I'm sorry too. Yahoo won't let me personally apologize to those few people, so you had to read me sorta repost the question again. Sorry. I didn't mean to repost the question, really. But Yahoo left me no choice. Sorry, ok?

I read it and thought it was a very well thought out question. It was obviously sarcastic in nature and yet made a valid point about our society and gave an opportunity to respond. I did not find it offensive in the least.

edit: I agree with cdavis99 below. The person who reported this question should come forward and enlighten all of us as to why it was offensive and explain what could possibly be more offensive than the deaths of 30,000 children a day while we decide what new technological gadget we should buy next.

Actually, an intriguing question. Need to let the first impulse answer pass by and think about this a minute. She cheated on you. Why? Was it sexual or was there more to it. Typically, it is the guy that seeks out the extracurricular bootie call and often it really is just for the excitement and stimulation of 'forbidden sex'. There are women who are stimulated this way too. Not many. It is unusual in women, but they exist. That being said, it almost seems like your wife is basically saying, "I need more! I want to swing!" She may even have been repressing this physical desire and need for some time, trying to 'fit in' to the traditional mold. But she obviously can't. It isn't her. So, the question is, is this a life style you can embrace? There are risks. She may find a guy that just sort of lights her up. Same could happen to you, but at this point, what do you have to lose? It could, in fact, open up a whole new world for the two of you.

Boy, that's a sad story. Some people just don't have the satire neurons working in their brains.

But, regarding your attitude -- you know, in some circles praying is considered to be like the magic penny -- the more you give prayers to others, the more karma you accumulate. So, it's OK to pray for starving children, a close parking place (that's not handicapped), for the handicapped, for the spiritually handicapped who park in a handicapped space without a physical handicap, and for President Bush. It all bounces good things back to you. (An it harm none, of course.)

I'm not sure if I believe that, but I believe it's a good idea to always hedge your bets.

That's a tough moral issue you pose, though. You obviously have a computer or are paying money to an Internet cafe instead of sending the money to pay for measles vaccinations in Africa, so it seems you have come to some sense of balance in your life. (-: Pray for those people who are still struggling to find balance in theirs.

How very charming!

And now, in the spirit of openness and forgiveness, perhaps we can know who it was who took it upon themselves to act as Morality Monitor for all the rest of us, and reported the question?

Come on, now. If you're so convinced that you have the right to decide what we shall and shall not see, you must be a very wise person indeed. Let us - at least metaphorically - gaze upon you.

I'm sure someone with your keen sense of ethics and morality will be honourable enough to come forward and receive your reward from all those you've so gallantly protected.

Well, when you point out someone's self-absorbtion, they're bound to get offended. Remember, their image of a deity is that it'll help them get a new job or a new car but can't do anything about starving children because that's Satan's work and is the fault of Adam and Eve and free will. Don't you dare tarnish this pristine image of goodness, you sinner.

That request is no more selfish that the woman I know who quite seriously prays for close parking places at wal-mart so she wont have to walk.

Curious to see if this question survives, or if the monitor of politically correct prayer request zaps you again.

Perhaps I'll just pray you aren't deleted.

Ohh no, that was not a bad a bad question. I think it might be my fault, I did not report it but I mentioned that it is only 17 dollars a month to support a child through Children International...and they might have been thinking it is advertisement...so if this question gets deleted again...then it must be that..

I'm an apple shareholder but I'd definitely get the DVD player first...I'm offended you consider them comparable level needs.

I like you so I gladly accept your apology! By the way... did you opt for the DVD player or the iPod?
