That we should stop nodding politely at religious people who have been spewing their religious opinions in social situations, unasked, all this time? Why do we treat them with this exaggerated respect while keeping our opinions to ourselves in public? I think when they start to spew, when no one has asked them what they think, they should be told, eg., "Well, I think it's a bunch of hokum,"...I mean they started it. I think that will help people get over the religion thing a bit. Who's with me?

Don't get me wrong, I have faith in God, I just can't understand what could make people put all of their faith into a book that was written over 2000 years ago by men. Enlighten me.

Apollo program also entered into a [ship] and [sat in the sea] of tranquility [the sea was made calm]. Futhermore, in the book of Mark 4:14 the sower soweth the word, In this version of this parable the word is not connected to this being the word of God, in fact the word is as a mystery, because in this book it does not say what the word is, the word is used 8 times here, and, the word of Albert, e=mc squared was a word of wisdom, this took 8 presidents to confirm this word, from Teddy to Truman... to the terrible bomb, 1905-1945, Can you see this?

So your house had a creator but the universe didn't? The universe and everything in it came about by "science", right? That's what you've told me, anyway. You've said the universe, planets, animals, people, plants, etc. came about when the "conditions were right". So let me ask you this:

If you were to lay out all the materials for a house and lay out all the tools and things necessary to build it: Would your house come together just like the universe?

i really admire muslims for their way of praying, i mean not the way they do it but the number of times they talk to whom they believe. because many claims 'hey im a christian', but when is the last time they prayed to God surrendering all and spend time for His words?
..but this makes me thoughtful..
for muslims, are you praying to who you believe because you really want to and you believe that there is really an allah that hears you, or do you consider it as just a routine? im not questioning you coz i want to argue, im just curious..

and for my fellow christians, what do you think of it?

I’ve noticed that the only prayers that God seems to answer are in ambiguous situations, like curing cancer. How can one know if it’s God or coincidence? It seems to me that whenever the situation is unambiguous, God ignores the prayers—such as trying to have God regenerate an amputees limb, or lift a car 10 feet of the ground when an innocent person is trapped underneath it. I’ve heard it suggested that God wont answer unambiguous prayers because it would be too obvious and rob us of our free will, but aren’t most of God’s actions in the Bible obvious (prating the sea, sending his son to earth and performing dozens of miracles, raising the dead, etc.)?

feelings.... Granted if abuse is present whether physical or mental, this would do no one good.

However, if two people are simply not happy anymore...shouldn't they at least stay together for the children?

Shouldn't people put more thought into having children...and only have them if they are in a healthy relationship?

Shouldn't your own concerns become secondary when you have a child...and the best interest of the child be primary?

Aren't we to love each other and our children as God loves the church?

Didn't God die for his children...so, shouldn't a couple at least stay together for theirs? Again, within reason...if it is in the best interest of the child.

Can we all not agree that belief in God and Evolution both require a bit of faith as both cannot be totally physically proven?

Why did Jesus say this? Who sent Jesus? What I teach is not mine. That's interesting. Cross refrence with any translation.

OK so check this out. If you are Atheist and in the service possibly sacraficing life or limb you are required to attend religious services. How wrong is this? I'm Christian and though the lady from Atheist organazation explaining on some news show said what if they made Christians attend Jewish or Muslim worship we would be upset. I wouldn't but I know some of my brothers and sisters would. I would be upset about being forced to attend any religious service though. I believe this should change and soon. Who thought this mess up?

I am Pagan and very proud of that fact, but I have a three year old son that I love very much. At first I wanted to keep him neutral, so that he will grow up to choose his own religion. Then I relized that would leave him open to every nut job Christian to tell him that he is going to hell for not beleiving in Jesus. I want my son to be open to new thoughts and ideals, and not confined to any one just thing. \
Serious answers only please.

And they were all built by someone, correct? But then you turn around and say nobody created the universe or the planets or even humans for that matter?

So if something as simple as your house didn't come about by chance--how did this universe, this earth, plants, animals, and people all come about by chance?

Was tolerance, love, and harmony his true message or would Jesus have been opposed to multi-culturalism, tolerance, etc.?

Was Jesus a relativist or a multiculturalist? Was he tolerant of everyone or just some folks?

11 But ye that forsake Jehovah, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for Fortune, and that fill up mingled wine unto Destiny;

11-12"But you who abandon me, your God,
who forget the holy mountains,
Who hold dinners for Lady Luck
and throw cocktail parties for Sir Fate,
Well, you asked for it. Fate it will be:
your destiny, Death.
For when I invited you, you ignored me;
when I spoke to you, you brushed me off.
You did the very things I exposed as evil;
you chose what I hate."

I feel like that is just avoiding life. They say you should not have any attachments because when you are separated from them it will cause you pain but isn't pain how you learn in life? Can you have attachements to people or would that also cause pain when the relationship fails?

What's the difference between the old testament and the new testament? I just began reading the bible. I'm on about chapter 11 of Genesis. Can someone please explain to me about the bible? I don't understand why there are different sections such as Corinthians, and several other names. I'm really interested in reading the Bible and I will but I just want to get a summary of it.
