11 But ye that forsake Jehovah, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for Fortune, and that fill up mingled wine unto Destiny;
11 “But YOU men are those leaving Jehovah, those forgetting my holy mountain, those setting in order a table for the god of Good Luck and those filling up mixed wine for the god of Destiny.

11-12"But you who abandon me, your God,
who forget the holy mountains,
Who hold dinners for Lady Luck
and throw cocktail parties for Sir Fate,
Well, you asked for it. Fate it will be:
your destiny, Death.
For when I invited you, you ignored me;
when I spoke to you, you brushed me off.
You did the very things I exposed as evil;
you chose what I hate."

True Christians should never fear to quote from the bible, or use any expression used by the Divine Author, Almighty God.
(Philippians 1:14) Speak the word of God fearlessly
Of course, superstition dishonors God and Christ. True Christians never cherish icons of or seek favor from false gods, such as Baal, Molech, or "Good Luck".
(Deuteronomy 7:25,26) The graven images of [false] gods you should burn in the fire. ...it is a thing detestable to Jehovah your God. And you must not bring a detestable thing into your house and actually become a thing devoted to destruction like it. You should thoroughly loathe it and absolutely detest it, because it is something devoted to destruction.
(Zephaniah 2:11) Jehovah will be fear-inspiring against [false worshippers]; for he will certainly emaciate all the gods of the earth, and people will bow down to [Jehovah]
(Psalm 135:15-18) The idols of the nations are silver and gold, The work of the hands of earthling man. 16 A mouth they have, but they can speak nothing; Eyes they have, but they can see nothing; 17 Ears they have, but they can give ear to nothing. Also there exists no spirit in their mouth. 18 Those making them will become just like them, Everyone who is trusting in them.

But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number. (KJV)
God is speaking of those who have rebelled against him.
The "luck" or "fortune" substitutions seem to be a bit of a stretch from the KJV.
The Chinese came up with luck and fortune.
I believe in God's word, not in luck, chance or lukewarm destiny so I avoid using the words. God blesses those who seek his word and obey. No luck involved.
But that's just me.

GOD OF GOOD LUCK, GOD OF DESTINY
The apostate Jews in the time of Isaiah were involved in worshiping “the god of Good Luck” (Heb., gadh) and “the god of Destiny” (Heb., meni′). The worshipers of these deities set a table of food and drink before them. Jehovah said to such worshipers that he would destine them to slaughter by the sword.—Isa 65:11, 12.
The Assyrians and Babylonians frequently prepared food and drink for their gods. People in Haran made vows and hoped to be accepted by the “Lord of Luck.” In his comment on Isaiah 65:11, Jerome wrote that “in all cities, and especially in Egypt and Alexandria, there was an ancient idolatrous custom, that on the last day of the final month of their year they would spread a table covered with various kinds of foods, and a cup mixed with sweet wine, ensuring good luck for the fertility either of the past or the coming year.”—Corpus Christianorum, Series Latina, LXXIII A, S. Hieronymi presbyteri opera, Pars. 1, 2A, Tyrnholt, 1963, p. 754.
Some card players trust in luck, making appeals to “Lady Luck.” Is this proper? Not according to the Scriptures. God warned his people of old: “You men are those leaving Jehovah, those forgetting my holy mountain, those setting in order a table for the god of Good Luck and those filling up mixed wine for the god of Destiny. And I will destine you men to the sword.” (Isa. 65:11, 12) Those circumstances involved false worship, but the impropriety of trusting in luck cannot be ignored by anyone desiring divine approval.

True Christians should not use the term 'good luck.'
The Bible contains God's condemnation of those who claim to worship him but who are "setting in order a table for the god of Good Luck." (Isaiah 65:11) Yes, God detests practices that promote a superstitious belief in luck.

KJV
But ye [are] they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.
NKJV
"But you are those who forsake the LORD,
Who forget My holy mountain,
Who prepare a table for Gad,
And who furnish a drink offering for Meni.
NIV
“But as for you who forsake the Lord
and forget my holy mountain,
who spread a table for Fortune
and fill bowls of mixed wine for Destiny,
ESV
“But you who forsake the Lord,
who forget my holy mountain,
who set a table for Fortune
and fill cups of mixed wine for Destiny,
==> for that troop - Strong's [01409] is gad. A synonym - Strong's [01408] is Gad - a Babylonian deity - a god of fortune.
Close but no cigar.
They're not talking about the Lord here but another Babylonian deity. That' why it says "you who forsake the Lord."

And you did evil in My sight
And chose that in which I did not delight."

OK, I will begin telling people to stop holding dinners for Lady Luck, or throwing cocktail parties for Sir Fate. Those individuals seem to be pretty fickle anyhow.

It's talking about worshipping other God's, it has nothing to do with saying "good luck". You really need to try and understand the meaning of what the author is saying instead of interpreting it in some far out manner as this.
Reminds me of when the Jews refused to use the words YHWH (I am) because they went overboard with their interpretation of scripture.

If you noticed, the "god" in "god of Good Luck" wasn't capitalized, which means that it isn't talking about the one true God.
They were having feasts for an idol. God clearly says that Israel was ignoring Him, while worshiping the other "gods" of Good Luck and Destiny.

Hey Jason I never knew that! You people really know your stuff dont you? I looked and now I saw it in my bible I'll try not to say good luck again. Thank you for pointing that out, no, Christians shouldnt say it. Should we not say 'fortunate' too because thats a derivative of 'fortune'? You got me thinking now!
