Serious question, is there any part of the Republican platform that the fundamentalist Christian does not buy into?

Is there any part of the Democratic platform that the fundamentalist Christian does buy into?

I don't think either one is true, but I have been seeing many people disputing science with weird, paranoid conspiracy theories. For example, one guy posted that evolution is a "fraud played on Americans".

I always thought that science (biology is a science, and so is meteorology) was the honest interpretation of the data at hand. Why is there so much distrust in science and data? Is it easier to dismiss if you don't think you need to make any effort to understand it?

The kidding that kids receive at school because their parents are fundamentalists is bad...I know, I was one of those kids with fundie parents....this is usually an argument against gay parenting...it works both ways.

Fundamentalists strive to force everyone to believe as they do...they will make their children attend church..read the Bible, etc...is this right? If they are Baptist, they will force their child to go to a Baptist church...is this right?

Finally, Fundamentalists will tell their children that they are going to hell if they do not believe as they do...if they do not turn from their sins, etc...isn't this an act of torture...say, if the kid is gay? This treatment has caused many gay kids to commit suicide.... Shouldn't the fundamentalist be held accountable for harrasing the child, etc...

This is only for example...if the fundamentalist will love the child they, along with gay people should be allowed to adopt...there are too many unloved children in this world

maybe i didn't make it clear.as a christian I value the life I have been given also, I value the giver even more. What I wanted to know is, if for some reason in today or some tomorow someone wanted you to renounce your belief, faith whatever you want to call it would you? would you change your faith to save yourself?

Since it came up in a response, I'll share my answer which I apologize I should have done in the first place.
Yes I would die for my faith in Christ [God]. I hope to never have to do it and I would hate to leave my kids but I would because it is more important than anything I have or posess. Christ gave His life for me I would gladly give mine for Him. He will care for my kids. I would be scared as Hell to stay for the tribulation but I would do that as well to give others the chance I had.

If several individuals today claimed to have been inspired by God and then wrote several new manuscripts that were very different than the current Bible, would anyone take them seriously?

Christians say the atheists need to be more tolerant, but we have done nothing to you. You are the intolerant ones! In the past you have killed, tortured, hated, forcefully converted, and enslaved millions of people for not agreeing with your religion. Atheists are shunned and told they are going to hell, and fired and even thrown out of their own homes for years and we are the hateful ones?? Today christians burn down buildings and kill people who disagree with them. Even if they don't hate people the imagine them burning in hell! How righteous. In 7 different states (in the US) Atheists are not allowed to hold office. Atheists are considered the most hated and least trusted minority in the US. Only 1-3% of Americans are atheist. FIND SOME OTHER RELIGION TO ATTACK!!!! Stop trying to shopve your religeon down everybody's throughts! It may shock you t'o hear that not everyone wants to believe in what you do. I don't care if you believe in imaginary beings. Just don't take away myrights!

He must have been alone for eternety, why did he just start creating now since the bible's history is only 6000 years old.

I know he created angelic life before earth but still, his creation had a beginning so at some point he was alone for an eternety. Is that logical? Why did he find the need to create if he was alone for eternety.

All of you should listen to "Jesus Christ" by Brand New. It's a very nice song and it's one of the reasons why I am reading the bible right now because I don't know anything about why he talks about the gold chariot or why he says "at the gates does thomas ask to see my hands?" Please take a listen and please explain to me some of the bible based lyrics. :

Okay, despite my usual tact, I am not immune to sticking my foot in my mouth BIG TIME and for that I am truly sorry. I should not have worded that question that way.

Allow me to ask that question again, the way I mean to ask it:

If you are an athiest, how tolerant are you of other people's religions, (always providing that they are not forcing their beliefs upon you.)

I am second to no one in blasting fanatics, so I understand when athiests tell off an obnoxious believer. What I want to know is, how well can you get along with a believer/discuss your individual beliefs in comfort and confidence?

Ok I know this is a difficult question , But I will try to ask it any way. May be some one who is out there will know the answer?

How do I go about defending my Faith (my Religious & Spiritual beliefs WITH OUT ARGUING OR FIGHTING. I believe that Religion is not some thing to argue or fight about ,but instead some thing to being us closer to God & closer to each other. So usually when some one tries to start up with me about what I believe I try to tell about my beliefs (because there is a lot of confusion about what Catholic's do & believe , but they act as if they don't hear me & say that I am wrong.

(please answer respectful this question is not meant to start a debate, Please no insult the beliefs of others or flaming thanks you for your time God bless you)
