I asked in a previous question,

"Can you help me real quick?

Can you show me verses in the Bible that declare the following:
Mary is our intercessor,
We should pray to Mary,
We should pray to saints,
The priests can forgive sins,
infant baptism,
Purgatory,
and the need for works and sacraments in order to get to heaven?

I can't seem to find any verses that support any of these. Please help me."

HOWEVER, no one gave me SCRIPTURE references! they simply told me to look here or there or anywhere BUT in the Bible. HELP ME FIND THESE WITH REFERENCES!!!

(from Wikipedia)"There is a Dilbert comic strip in which Dogbert postulates that since everything develops from simpler forms to more complex forms, a supreme being must be our future, not our origin. His idea is that God must be the entity that will be formed when enough people are connected by the Internet."

You can even go back as far as the last decade or so of the 1900s.

Why do Protestants use a cross, instead of a Crucifix? I am a Catholic, and whenever I go to Mass, the crucifix is a pretty good reminder of what Jesus went through to clean me of my sins. So why don't Protestants have one up?

I am just wondering, I don't mean to offend anyone.

If so, from what?
Is it a "self-calculating" force or forces? For example considering the symmetry and patterns observed in humans, animals, insects, plants, etc.
Or is that just......nature?

Shouldn't we all strive to be more like Paul, the REAL messiah instead of the poser Jesus guy? Let's all spread the good word of Paul--start calling ourselves Paulians, since none of us want anything to do with Christ's wimpy messages of peace and love anyway...........

It's got only one ball, but it also has a funny button in the middle of a split cleavage. When I hit this button, all goes wild on screen, or at least I get an unexpected reaction.

It sometimes does what I want it to do, but it turns whimsical at times. I just need to treat it harshly, so it obeys me, or on the contrary, I just need to wipe its hole with my fingers.

It doesn't think for itself, so it needs to be permanently plugged to a bigger and brainier entity. It is also quite cheap and you may discard it once it's served a purpose. You can always plug a new one, and it will do the same, over and over.

Did I mention that its ball is stuck in a huge (and grimy) hole?

Remember, God's original purpose was for them to live forever on a paradise earth, fill it with perfect people and take care of the earth. Life in heaven was not an option for them.
What do you think ?

Serious question...what is the thought process behind spending so much on such a huge building?

Are you able to reach more people about the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ better in an expensive building?

Do building these "compounds" keep people in or keep people out?

If keeping in, is this an attempt to block out the world around and not have to acknowledge other's presence, ideas or religions?

In building a multi-million dollar mega church compound...where you have church, schools, stores, etc...isn't this bordering on being cultish?

Read so many testimonials from people who say that religion helped them at times when they are "lost", "desolate" etc, how exactly does it work? Do you just feel a surge of hope and happiness in you like when you are eating chocolate? Or is it because you found friends through your religious cell?

I never see people elaborating on this.

Seriously, how?

How can any religion claim that their God is the absolute truth if they don't have absolute evidence? Theist claim the problem is that Atheist don't believe in absolutes. Well neither do theist since they don't agree on which God to worship or how. Right?

Do you think that we should be more like Paul, or tell the ppl what they want to hear?

Paul told the sinners the way it was, even when they didn't want to hear it

Sometimes they come twice a week. They are driving me crazy and they don't take no for an answer. They always seem to come when my children are napping and they often wake them up. I do not want to put a "no soliciting" sign on my door as I like to help out the neighborhood children with school fundraisers and stuff.

In the past, according to the bible, god did many things that were definitively him, parting the Red Sea, flooding the entire world, changing Moses's walking stick into a snake, changing water into wine. why did he stop giving proof of his existence after the bible was written?

Maybe the world is blind,
Or just a little unkind.
Don't know.

Seems you can't be sure
Of anything anymore.
Although,

You maybe lonely and then,
One day you're smiling again.
Every time I turn around,
I see the girl that turns my world around.
Standing there...

Everytime I turn around,
Her spirit's lifting me right off the ground.
What's gonna be ?
Guess we'll just wait and see.

There are times in life when we are committed to pursuing our passions.
Every molecule in our body is focused on doing what we love. At other times, necessity and responsibility dictate that we put our dreams aside and do what needs to be done.

there are 2ways to look at a world, the first is to accept the fact that there is a god, and you respect his rules. the second is, that the church is after all made of people, and they might make a mistake, and they might be wrong about things (eg. catholic priests can't have families). which way is better: to keep an open mind or to believe without questioning in the rules. and some of the rules are made by humans. there might be a mistake, isn't it?People wonder about these things, but i've known some who were so sure of themselves about these matters, they don't question anything, everything is so simple, everything makes sense etc. how do you reach that state, or does it worth reaching that state, because you might fall in the trap of fooling yourself, you deny everything else, and live in a world of your own. god made miracles to me, and it felt so good, i've never felt happier in my life, but how can i be so stupid to not accept him as he is after he's shown me how great he is?
