An unhappy citizenry is hard to control. The world is very complicated and awareness is a painful, dangerous thing. So, beyond the core curriculum, a subtext of patriotism is carefully inculcated into trusting, young minds. Grownups are responsible for our care and safety, why would they mislead us?

In America, it starts with the Pledge of Allegiance. We swear our allegiance to a flag, an arbitrary emblem of- what? A "republic". And what does this republic "stand for"? Unity (apparently). "God" (thank you, Joe McCarthy). "Liberty and justice for all". Sounds good, but clearly "liberty and justice" tend to favor the rich, the powerful and white anglo Christians. There is no mention of the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. Day after day, unquestioned assumptions are affirmed by minds who do not know how to question what they have been told.

Then comes the history and the civics, all taught as idealistically as possible. Here's how a bill makes it through Congress, never mind the corporate lobbyists, the backroom deals, the pork barrel projects, the committee assignments and the parliamentary shennanigans. It's all for the good. Here is George Washington, dedicated general and reluctant president. Here is Abraham Lincoln, who freed the slaves and regretted the atrocities of the Civil War. Here are the fighting men of the World Wars, postponing and giving their lives for the sake of freedom and democracy. Who can question their motives and sincerity? If only we can grow up to be as selfless and patriotic as they! And over all, God is watching, making sure our republic remains safe, wise and good.

The same program runs in every country, England, France, Germany, Japan, China, India, Pakistan, Syria, Nigeria, South Africa, Venezuela, Brazil, etc.. Whatever faults we have, we will overcome them. Whatever wrongs we have done in the past, we have repaired them. And God approves and blesses us.

With such noble foundations, how could anyone think of complaining about, much less undermining them? We want to protect our country, preserve it from harmful change, because it obviously works so well. And for those for whom it is not working, there are effective routes of appeal under our just and merciful system. And even though foreigners may criticize us, it is out of envy and ambition, not honest humanitarian concern.

A government's first duty is to survive. It's second duty is to prevent change. In order to do that, it needs to pacify its people, either by gifts, attention or force. An unhappy citizen seeks change and that complicates life for government. So citizens must either believe that everything is working well, or they must be intimidated into silence. Dissident voices are discredited and marginalized, to create the impression that these are a tiny minority that is never satisfied. Loyal patriots would never question the benevolence of their government nor endanger it by unpatriotic and potentially treacherous behavior. The duty of a citizen is to protect the government that takes such good care of everyone. Change is chaos. We're so good already that, even in the name of "improvement", that is just too risky.

That's how and why they do it.

Look at the political brainwash. They create a socialist community by forcing all students in a class to pool supplies rather than being responsible for their own needs. They are teaching a system where the "community" is responsible for supplying individual needs.

Part 2. Our math education system is crazy. We are behind so-called third world countries in teaching our children the math and logic they'll need to compete in the job market of their adulthood. Our elementary teachers do not themselves know what other countries are teaching as 7th grade math, aka Calculus 1. Without teachers capable of doing the math they should be teaching, we are doomed to lag further behind in this vital area.

In high school and college, no. They're too old to believe everything they hear. By that time, most of them have already made up their minds about their beliefs. However, whether or not they believe in evolution, evolution is an important concept. If they wish to go into certain scientific fields professionaly, they're going to have to learn it. A professor is not going to pass a student who refuses to listen because he or she does not agree with what's being taught. Evolution is also important in the practical sense, especially when dealing with things such as medicine (certain diseases become immune to certain vaccines and antibiotics), agriculture (for the same reasons as for medicine; livestock and crops are also affected by diseases), conservation and preservation of certain species of plants and animals (a lot of microevolution there, as well), as well as various other fields.

Most public school system students have a viewpoint that could only be learned from a liberal politician. It would be different if there were some different points of view expressed but it is almost universally a far left point of view on almost all situations or events from the war to abortion.

Absolutely... Let me explain... This is a small part of it, but very obvious. Kids are conditioned to run to class when they hear a "bell"... Sounds familiar, Pavlov?
