I'm not sure just what you are basing your idea on. If you think that the Bible ought to be banned because it is a story book, you would have to ban all story books. There goes Winnie the Pooh. Bye, bye, Pooh, Rabbit, Tigger, Eeyore....we'll miss you!
I guess you'll have to ban all television that is based on a story, as well. No more movies, no more cartoons, no more Sesame Street...bye bye, Bugs Bunny, Popeye, Dracula, King Kong, etc, etc, etc....
OH, and you'll have to close down the libraries and the movie theatres....
Maybe it would be easier to scrap the whole idea and just let people keep their religion.
Besides, you'll still be able to talk to your friends. But if you take away their video games, you won't be very popular.....

Religion gives people a model for living a good life. The problems only start when people take the words of a book at face value and will not try to think what the words are actually saying. Thus they become blinded by the book and ignore the values the book is trying to teach.
This is true of most religions.
However it is wrong to ban religion, for it is not religion that is at fault, it is the blind followers.

You want to ban the bible because it's just a story? Should we ban Spiderman because it's also just story? Should we ban all stories? The Harry Potter fans are going to be very disappointed.

No way, should religion be banned! I'm a Christian and I practise my faith everyday.
Also you are discriminating religious people of the world.
Leave the religions alone.
However I can see why you want to ban it, because religion causes wars and stuff (like with Hitler and the Jews.)
But if you did ban religion, you would have a riot on your hands, I recommend you don't go there, mate.

So you are all for taking away freedoms? Personally, I wouldn't go to that extreme just because I don't like what other people believe.
Pray to Winnie the Pooh... if he gives you honey you're set for life. =)

It should and if not, we should at least give religion less importance and less reverence. It should be challenged every time it shows itself and wants to influence politics or discriminate against specific groups, or close down art galleries and theatre plays!

what a stupid question??
religion has been here for ages and ages...
don't you think people during them times denied it,yet look around you in the world religion grows and grows...
is it a case of you feeling threatened by religion?
it's just a case of tolerance, you should respect people as fellow human beings regardless of colour,nationality,religion..
