I often here my friends talk about being "lds". Anyone know what this is? I hate being left outta the circle.

The memorials for September 11 were glutinous with the language of GOD. People prayed to GOD, sang songs to GOD and, interestingly enough, gave GOD “thanks”.
They needn’t have bothered – one year ago, GOD didn’t listen to the terrified voices that cried out to GOD from the same patch of earth, and there is no reason to believe he was listening this time. If he was – if demonstrations of admiration and gratitude are more likely to arrest GOD’s attention than desperate pleas for help – then surely he’s not worth congratulating. Asking GOD for help is completely futile.
Some received assistance, or so they believe. I heard one survivor declare that his miraculous escape was “the work of GOD”, who had obviously saved him for some “greater purpose”. What does that mean for those who didn’t survive? Did GOD decide, in their moment of need, that they were worthless? Yes! that’s it you are a useless carbon units your time is up!

I had religion class today, and my teacher said something very weird, and i cant possibly see how it makes sese?

"God created Jesus in the image of God?"

I thought Jesus was God also, so how can God create himself (Jesus/son of god) in the image of himself.
I also learned that Christians describe God as Ex Nilio (not sure of the spelling)
this is latin and it means "out of nothing"
meaning God was never created, he always was and always is.

If any what i have learned in my class makes sense to you, please tell me how and why it makes sense to you?

P.S
I heard my teacher perfectly, i even asked her to repeat it
and then i wrote it down....
so please dont say that i might have heard wrong.

like God having sex with Mary; wives need the husband's permission to get into heaven; that in the Celestial Kingdom, men have endless sex, women are eternally pregnant and have spirit babies; that the church is a racist organization; that we are forced to part with 10%+ of our money; and so on? I've heard that there were other people on earth as an answer from my church, but that doesn't make sense. & I believe in God and such but it seems as if a lot of the bible is just stories, like the ones mommy and daddy read you before bed to keep the monsters under the bed away. I hate the fact i think that way but as i think about it in depth, that's all i can come up with. I believe Christ died on the cross and was sent to save our sins, but i almost think i believe it because i can't imagine us as people living our entire lives... just to die?

and i'm young and afraid of dying. Like no, really afraid. I don't want to die. Ever. Just the fact that i don't know what's going to be there (or if there is anythign at all) scares me.

I mean if u try to remember where u were before u were born, u can't, and i think that's what it's going to be like, nothingness. I don't want to sound emo or anything,

I'm Jewish, what am i supposed to believe in? Heaven? Or just that our spirit moves on forever? I don't really know...

anyone think they can try and make death not seem so scary?

We're always praying and trying to live that Gods will be done. Why didn't he just make it easier on us and take away our free will. I know God wants us to worship and have a relationship with him...but by praying asking Christ into our lives haven't we already chosen him, already chosen to worship and obey? I'm just curious what you think?

If God "Has a plan", is there a Hell? Did he plan the Virginia Tech shootings? Did he plan terrorist attacks in our country and other countries? I've never really understood this and I believe that the whole topic of a "Plan" was something to end an argument between two people. Can someone explain to me what this is? No bitterness please... I'm just curious.

As the misrepresentation of people from every race, sex, and religon grow more and more frequent in the media, what is something that can be done to help stop over reactive press and help start global progress to the acceptance of humanity as a general good? At camp the evangelist said that Lucifer (the devil) was an angel (Cherubim or Seraphim) that was one of the favored of GOD's. He was "Gold, Jewels, and music". He was so loved and was put so high that he thought he was better than GOD and GOD found this out and cast him out of Heaven and into hell. I CANNOT FIND THE PASSAGE!!! Do you consume pork? Please explain why since the old Testament discourages us from eating pork...

I have also understand that many Christian/Catholic family and friends insist that the new Testament overrides the old Testament but in actual fact Jesus said:

"think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill... Till heaven and earth pass, one jot [a dot of the I] or one tittle [a cross of the T] shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

I practice both Native Spirituality and Gardnerian Wicca...by my own choice, but yet I show 'respect' towards other Religions as an "open-minded" individual...and do NOT recieve the same 'respect' back!!
It's a 2-way street here people and its NOT the 1700's or 1800's anymore...so why continue being hypocrites by judging who is better than who...when we ALL can work together by bringing Peace and Harmony back into our lives...especially during this time of turmoil with the War Against Terrorism!!
