I notice here in R&S people call God by differ names. I assume translation in their own language. Can anyone tell me if Allah is a translated name for Yahweh? So does that mean Allah is Yahweh like Jehovah is Yahweh?

How are we to believe that we were created from dust? There's lots of evidence that we evolved from other creatures. Should we just ignore this? Should we be happy to have been created from dust rather than a fish?

When this was a common trick employed by the Eleusian Mystery cults of Greece, a Pagan source, and was later adopted by the Gnostics and then the Christ cults?

Do you really think you are 'feeling' anything more than what you are expecting to feel? More than what you have been told you should expect or should want?

It's power of suggestion, expectation and peer pressure.

The MOST famous name for God in the OT is called the Sacred Tetragrammaton –It is YHWH.

Yahweh was changed into Jehovah by Christians -- Mark 12:29

Harpers Bible Dictionary says that the name JEHOVAH was "the result of the translators' ignorance of the Hebrew language and customs" (1985 edition , p. 1036)

Jehovah is a mistaken name of YHWH.

The Book "World Religions From Ancient History to the Present" says : "The name Jehovah is a medieval misreading and does not occur in the Hebrew Bible" (edited by Geoffrey Parrinder, p. 386)

The Interpreters Dictionary of the Bible says the name Jehovah is "an artificial name" (vol. 2, p.817) ------------ Asimovs Guide to the Bible says that the name Jehovah "arose by mistake" (vol 1, p. 135). The author further says : "This mistake has persisted and will probably continue to persist" (p.135)

"When it came to God's name instead of putting the proper vowel signs around it, in most cases they put other vowel signs to remind the reader that he should say "Adonai". From this came the spelling Lehouah, and eventually Jehovah ...(pg. 8 ,Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, 1984)

"The truth is , nobody knows for sure how the name of God was originally pronounced". -(page 7- Watchtower Bible and Tract Soceity, 1984.) ------------

The name Yahweh is derived from the statement God made to Moses in Exodus 3:14. Moses asked God as to what his name was and he got the reply -- "ehyeh esher ehyeh" .

The editors of the NEW JERUSALEM BIBLE explain this as : "The Hebrew can be translated literally 'I am what I am' , which would mean that GOD did not wish to reveal his name to them" (p. 85)

"The truth is , nobody knows for sure how the name of God was pronounced" (Pg. 7 - Watchtower Bible and Tract Society)

Is the name you are using in your prayers the name of God or a manmade name of God ?

Job 21

14 Yet they say to God, 'Leave us alone!
We have no desire to know your ways.

15 Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him?
What would we gain by praying to him?'

16 But their prosperity is not in their own hands,
so I stand aloof from the counsel of the wicked.

17 "Yet how often is the lamp of the wicked snuffed out?
How often does calamity come upon them,
the fate God allots in his anger?

18 How often are they like straw before the wind,
like chaff swept away by a gale?

19 It is said, 'God stores up a man's punishment for his sons.'

I have had several "violations" in the past week, and I have felt that they are undeserved. I just read a question from Philosophizer about a report that was supposedly sent in because of a differing opinion on the Iraq war.

The only times I have reported anyone have been when someone says something that is really racist or anti-semitic or otherwise hate-filled that I can't stand not reporting it. A wise@$$ comment or a different opinion - even a profoundly stupid one - doesn't qualify for a report in my book. What about you? What makes you say "okay: this is over the line and I'm reporting it"?

Who can hear you and communicate with you? Are the Catholics correct in saying that only their priests can communicate with you? Why is this? To ensure the hierarchy and security of the Catholic Church? Or, can anyone communicate with you as most of the other religions believe?

This video has me literally in tears. I am a mother and have gone through something that would be considered nothing compared to this. Why should babies have to suffer like this? It's heart wrenching. If you can't stand to see children in pain, don't click. Would you support such actions against your enemy if there were children involved, or would you not care and willingly end their lives?

You also teach creation theory in schools even though this theory has been debunked by evolution.

Those that profess to be creation theory experts where is your scientific facts - don’t tell me it's blind faith - blind faith is for non thinkers.

I have also read that man lived for many 100s of years if you believe we don’t evolve and change how come we don’t live for hundreds of years now?

It took 180 for the scientific knowledge that the earth was not the centre of the universe to become general knowledge.

The bilble even talks of a flat earth - should we all believe that to be true as well?

Would it be fare to say that those that believe in creation theory are blind faith religious fundamentalists? And religious fundamentalists are mostly republicans. So there for republicans have blind faith and thus non thinkers?

I am a born and raised Christian. But i have become very interested in Wiccan ways.I would in no way call myself a Wiccan.I am just trying to get as much information on it as possible before i make a decision either way.But there area afew questions i just cant seem to get past.Mainly,This is probably going to come out wrong,But is there any proof or reason to what it is you believe? Because alot of Christian beliefs run on Blind Faith. But then again,If you believe in God and the Bible then there is proof in everything. The earth He created,Ect.So i guess im asking what is it that Wiccan beliefs tell you? I know that you believe in Gods And Goddess,But why? Is there a Wiccan 'Bible' that will better explain this to me? Thanks so much for your help.Sorry if this is confusing! :/

Were the states of the USA brought about by 10+7=17 presidents...? I believe all 50 states were formed by only 17 presidents, do you think this is a coincidence, also weren't there 7 articles in the law of Liberty [Constitution], and the 10 Bill of Rights?

You think this shows, the telegraph which uses an impediment to speak, and also, he looked into heaven, as the string was done away with, just as when we used satellites for our communications, and were able to use cordless things, and one other prophecy to consider: was when Star Trek used a communicator which resembles our cell phones today...?
