Several questions here, not just one, so let's take them in order:
1) Why is there war? Money and power, and often money IS power. Those who have it, want more; those who don't have it will often do anything to get it.
2) How does it agree with "Thou Shalt Not Kill?" It doesn't agree with that, but it does agree with Ecclesiastes 3:8 "A time to love and a time to hate; A time for war and a time for peace," relating back to verse 1, "There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven—"
3) Why are there so many wars in Your Name? Well, there are none in MY name! Seriously, I assume you're asking why there are wars in the Name of God... for that, we go back to the answer to question 1 and couple the power and money with religion to allegedly give what your fighting for a "good" cause. But more often than not, the "good" is in name only - and the "power and money" are the real root.
The short answer: Because of an apple (the fruit often symbolized by an apple).

Many people make the mistake of believing the Bible says, “You shall not kill,” and seek to apply this command to war. However, the Bible actually says, “You shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13). The Hebrew word literally means “the intentional, premeditated killing of another person with malice.” God often ordered the Israelites to go to war with other nations (1 Samuel 15:3; Joshua 4:13). God ordered the death penalty for numerous crimes (Exodus 21:12; 21:15; 22:19; Leviticus 20:11). So, God is not against killing in all circumstances, but rather only murder. War is never a good thing, but sometimes it is a necessary thing. In a world filled with sinful people (Romans 3:10-18), war is inevitable. Sometimes the only way to keep sinful people from doing great harm is by going to war with them.

A person that drinks can find a million reasons to drink, god is a good reason to go to war and since no one knows what god is. Its easy and convenient, to say its gods will, god does not interfere, god allows man to act out his free will, god did not make them go to war ans so on. God is how you view him, how god will effect your life is whats at stake not what happens in the world. That why god is your personal savior and since you are capable of determining what god is and how close of a relationship you have. In the bible there are laws that attain to wars and the thou shall not kill, In wars its ok because someone is fighting evil,

The real word there is, "thou shall not murder." like the way Cain did it to his brother. Killing in time of war is not murder. People who makes war always call on the blessings of God and dedicate the battle for His name. The only written words I saw coming from God is "Building a temple for His name and the children of Israel who are called in His name."

There are at least 48 ways people define God. Among them:
• Authoritarian God. Angry at earthly sin and willing to inflict divine retribution.
• Distant God. A faceless, cosmic force that launched the world but leaves it alone.
• Benevolent God. Sets absolute standards for man, but is also forgiving--engaged but not so angry.
• Critical God. The classic bearded old man, judgmental but not going to intervene or punish.
• Totalitarian God. He is everywhere, and he is watching you.
• Codependent God. Enables us to sin so that we'll need him.
• Micromanager God. Not a sparrow falls without his control.
Decide which one you find acceptable and you may have an answer.

Because god gives us free will. HE can not stop us from doing the things that we want to do. We are the only creatures god gave free will too. HE tells us we shall not kill but cant stop us. Since we want power and money we have war!! We are man and we are greedy that is why there is war. It is not God's fault

When Adam was created GOD gave him free will to do GODS will or his own.Adam with the prompting of Eve chose not to do GODS will .The choice was always there and choose wisely for the consequences are also there.Murder and wars are not GODS will but mans and man without GOD is evil and warlike .The further we are removed from GODS will the more wars, deaths and hatred there is.
