How are we to believe that we were created from dust? There's lots of evidence that we evolved from other creatures. Should we just ignore this? Should we be happy to have been created from dust rather than a fish?

The Bible says so.

Gen 3:19
From dust you have come and to dust you shall return.

Their is a lack of evidence for evolution.People think that because our media and school system only reflect one side of the story.

If you want to see the other half of the story look at movies and books on this site... http://www.answersingenesis.org/

Stardust isn't so bad as a source of our physical manifestation, is it ?

According to the 'Big-Bangers' all the 'matter' that exists in our 'Universe' originated from one singular central point, and then 'exploded', was thrown out to form all the Galaxies, Stars, Planets and everything else. We would, presumably, be included in that summation, would we not ?

Actually it wasn't at all like that, but never mind, one thing is true, all matter is composed of energy, energy that has been compressed and slowed down in it's vibratory frequency sufficiently to become dense enough to become material.

Of course, to the questioner I would say that the fish is just as dusty as we are, and that the theory that we 'evolved' from any other species, be it fish or fowl, is just that, a theory.....not even a very good one. There is not a single scrap of hard evidence that we arrived here by way of some other species, although I suspect that several species may have arrived here by way of us.....but that's yet another story.

Whether you believe in evolution or believe that God created each animal from scratch, or believe in some combination of the two, sooner or later you get to that very question, anyhow. Somehow, life sprang from some inanimate source. If it makes more sense to you to think it "just happened to happen", well and good.
It just doesn't make sense to me.

You were not created from dust. Adam was. And God breathed life into him. God gives each of us life, and He knows everything you will ever think, do or say and loves you.

Now, if you'd prefer to be an ecological coincidence, with no meaning or purpose, that's up to you.

Dust comes from the older Germanic word dunst, which means spirit, so your body turns to ashes & your spirit flies away (to wherever). The ultimate destination of your spirit, whether to be reincarnated, composted, becoming 1 of the Mighty Dead, depends on your own inherent nature.

The Bible clearly states that Adam was created from dust. And also, if you consider what happens to our bodies when we die ... we turn into the very dust from which we were taken.

Examine the chemical content of the human body and compare it to the content of dirt - every element which comprises the human body can be found in various sorts of soils.

The evidence that we "evolved" is eminently debatable, and I would encourage you to actually examine the "evidence" and do what any thinking person would do: question it. I read time and again that science has found sufficient evidence for evolution that it is silly not to accept its validity, however, when I examine this evidence, I find it rather easy to blow it full of holes.

Take this last summer, for example. I took a class in biology from a professor with a masters degree in biology. He was working on his doctorate in paleontology. He presented what he thought was solid evidence, and I was successfully able to show glaring weaknesses and inconsistencies in every argument he put forth. In fact, he never successfully answered me on any question that challenged his "evidence." Incidentally, to his credit, in spite of my challenges to him, I ended up with an A for the course.
