Get a Bible and read the 23rd Psalm. It has six verses.

Go on the Net and see what you can find about tending sheep. Compare sheep tending to what you read. Write as much as you think you know and confess that you really don't know any more. The entire Psalm is about how Jesus takes care of us, the sheep of his pasture.

You can type in 'Shepherd sheep tending' for a start and do not forget that they didn't have sheep dogs in those days.
http://www.historyforkids.org may help. There is plenty to look at and many other Bible versus about sheep.

Ask the person who gave this task to do 200 words on John 11:35; which says ----- Jesus wept.

If you know nothing about the Bible and you don't really HAVE five favorite verses, why don't you just be honest and say so? God is all about love and truth. Lying is not a good way to learn about Him. I'm 110% sure your Bible-study friends will understand and support you, IF you will trust them enough to tell them the truth.
God bless you!

John 3:16 is fundamental. Romans 10:9-13 tell how to be saved.
I John 1:9 ... he forgives. John 11:35 shows compassion. Matthew 12:15 Jesus healed them all.
I hope this helps.

Well, I can only tell you my fave's and they probably won't have much meaning for you. They are personal...

Proverbs 8:11
for wisdom is more precious than rubies,
and nothing you desire can compare with her.( Obviously wisdom will gain you more than $$$)
Proverbs 10:11
The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.( You will be found out by someone, either here, or God, always God will know, but you can watch a person's walk and know whether they are a true Christian.)
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (God never changes, he is alive he is here today just as we was 1000 years ago. He can see to your heart and thoughts, he will judge accordingly.)

These 2 I would like you to read, and figure out what they mean to you...
It really is supposed to be a study, which means you need to study it, it isn't as hard as you think.... Let God speak to you through his word! It's o.k. to ask for help, and I will help you figure it out, but do some of the groundwork first. Ya know??? I am pleased you are in a bible study, don't be ashamed of not knowing your way around it, we all had to start somewhere.... God Bless ya!
Psalm 32:5
Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD "— and you forgave the guilt of my sin. ( I finally broke down and confessed)
James 3:6
The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

You will do fine, nobody is going to judge you on your lack of knowledge, remember, even pastors had to start somewhere. God loves ya!

Mathew 6:33 "But seek first His Kingdom and His Rightousness; and all these things shall be added to you!"
Mathew 22:38-40 "This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." John

My fav verse is Romans 8:28 "For all things work together for the good to those who love the Lord" (I'm paraphrasing)

What it means to me is that there are things that happen in our lives that we do not understand at all, there are bad things that happened for which we do not know the reason. We often ask why? why me God? and all we have to know is that all things, all good things, all bad things, all cruel things, happen for the good according to God, even tough we might not see it right away
