Jesus said:
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
(Matthew 11:28-30)
I did; and He did.

According to the "man-made"Catholic Church System teachings im going to hell.
According to God's plan of salvation from his word im going to Heaven and will receive eternal life.
I don't care anything for Catholic Church and their priests are the same type of priests that Jesus had a problem with.
They exalt their man-made teachings over the word of God.
If you are Catholic and you ask this question because you having a conflict with your priest then you should consider it a possible sign to LEAVE that system! I know i have.

I am a catholic, and i know that every person can communicate with him, like in prayers........ I think you got that informtion from some one who has been brainwashed.
I know however, that in confessing one's sins, you can only be forgiven if you confess it to a priests... This priest in turn gives you absolution.
This is so because when God, in Jesus' form was about to die, he gave Peter that power to absolve sin... Peter was one of the first priests...
When a catholic goes to confession, the Priest gives him prayers after confessing, which is a form of penance or payment for the sins he has committed...
Personally though, i believe that confessing one's sins to a priest is a form of humility which is one of the virtues... When you kneel in the confessional and tell the Priest that you've committed a sin, you acknowledge that you did something wrong and admitting it in somebody's presence, in this case, a Priest, who is God's representative on earth. It is much like when you were younger and you did something and you go to your mom or your dad and telling them you're sorry...and only then that you feel that everything is alright.

Anyone can communicate with God thru His Son, Jesus. In the Bible, Jesus says "I am the way and the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but through me." Before Jesus died for us,priests, (Levites) made sacrifices for the people and had to go into the ark of the covenant once a yr to make sacrifices. The Holy of Holies was the place where God dwelt among the people. Since Jesus died, the curtain in the covenant (in the Holy of Holies) was torn from bottom to top, thus making the communication open to all to God thru His Son. Jesus is our intercessor to the Father in Heaven. Jesus also is our defender when satan accuses us to the Father in Heaven. God bless.

You got it right. I think God listens to me and forgives, but a priest in the Vatican told me that doesn't count ... I still think it is done mainly to protect the hierarchy of the Church.
One detail: the Church says that for your sins to be forgiven you have to confess to a priest and be forgiven. But as a catholic you are encouraged to communicate with God.

Catholics believe that the priests act in the person of Jesus when they perform the sacraments-Confession, the Consecration of the Eucharist, etc. You can communicate with God in prayer, but you should find a priest and go to confession for forgiveness of your sins directly from Christ.

I assume where you have written "you", you actually meant to write "God".
When Christ was crucified, the veil that separated us from the Holy of Holies was rent (torn) bottom to top, meaning that no matter who you are or where you are, you can waltz right into the Throne-room and speak with your Father. No church is required. No Priest or Pastor is required.
Only your desire to do so is needed.

What are you talking about? Catholics say nothing like what you suggest. If you want to bash Catholics, at least get you information right.

Jan has the answer. We don't need someone to talk to God for us.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
