"LDS" are also known as Mormons. We represent the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
We believe in the Bible, as well as The Book of Mormon (which is another testiment of Jesus Christ)
We have a living Prophet on the earth today who is Gordon B. Hinkley.
If you have any further questions, feel free to email or IM me.
God bless,
Sarah

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The abbreviation comes from the last three words.

They are also referred to as Mormons, however LDS is a subset of Mormons - albeit a very large subset. There are denominations or sects of Mormonism that are not LDS, in other words.

The full name for the church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints". The church started by Joseph Smith. They have a lot of commercials. The "Family: Isn't it about time?" ones. They also do a lot of missionary work. They wear white shirts and black pants with name tags and they go two by two.

This means that the church knows you exist and your standing in the church. So there is a record that you are a child of record (born to a member but never baptized) or that you were baptized. If were baptized you would remember it and there would be other records kept by the church such as when you received a patriarchal blessing, when and where you were married, your children of record etc. The church also keeps extensive genealogical records for family history work but out of concerns for your privacy who you are related to and your very existence will not be released by the church to anyone except you unless you die. And any records that exist for you out of respect for your privacy you can request to have destroyed.

Latter Day Saints. It refers to members of The Church of Jesus christ of Latter-day Saints. We believe that we have a Father in Heaven who is our spiritual Father. Christ is His Son, and He atoned for our sins, was crucified for us, and was resurrected, so we could be resurrected as well. We also beleive in the strength of the family and that families can be eternal, not just until death does them part.
