The whole Answers site is addictive but just as one soda can be refreshing many more in a short space of time can become problematic and lose the "zing" of the occasional one off.
Rather than trying to amass mountains of points or staying in certain areas, why not EXTEND yourself and try to contribute more widely?
As for boredom - it is largely a state of mind. The internet is really only limited by ones imagination in being able to conceive of ways to use it. For example, think of anything you like - no matter how trivial or profound - search and who knows what you will find and how far it will take you.
I suggest that if you approach Yahoo Answers with the attitude of heart in trying to help others as a first priority and then using it for your own purposes secondly it will revitalise your whole experience!

Still it is at times instructive, if you want to find a diamond
you have to shovel a lot of dirt and swallow a lot of dust.
At the end of the day I just Erase and Rewind
Next time like Sisyphus I just grab that big hunk of rock
and start rolling it uphill, but in my case it's self inflicted.
It's not only ironic, it's pathetic.

Boredom leads to the asking of stupid questions from people and they often spread the stupidity around through that question, like a virus that spreads and kills peoples brian cells, also the computer in general causes stupidity, unless used properly.

Actually I think it's done its job.
I've Asked questions.
I've Answered others' questions.
And I've Discovered that there are more idiots out there than I would have imagined.
Time well spent.

actually, I see a lot of intellectual sparring on here. I formulate arguments and solidify my beliefs on here. R&S doesn't have easy answers... it's not like you can get difinitive answers.
