Follow me on this:
If it's not in your nature to do something, it's because you choose not to do so or because you are programmed not to do so. That means that what you are saying is "You can't do something that you don't choose to do" or "You can't do something that you were not programmed to do". Are you with me? Since you would not agree that God is programmed, you are saying that God can't do what he chooses not to do. However, since you say God is omnipotent, that means if he chooses to do something, he can do it.

Details please. I really what to change my behavior. I have never been in the habit of reading my Bible on a daily basis. I know that my anxiety and depression (I am currently getting treatment for although maybe not quality treatment) gets in the way of me making much progress reading. It's hard to even listen to my pastor anymore. I feel very guilty and wonder why after 16 years of going to the same church, that is basically biblically guided in its teaching, with a generally supportive congregation, I still feel that I am about at square one in my faith in God. Maybe my autistic tendencies and mood make what works for some not work for me, so I am eager to get as many suggestions as possible.

I have three reasons for choosing this goal:
1. I want to find God's direction in my life.
2. I have to modify a behavior for a psychology class.
3. I feel guilty about not growing spiritually.

That is, if someone doesn't believe in gods because they have neither experienced nor witnessed anything they conclude as proof of its existence but then later in life they come across something that changes their mind, would you frown upon them for changing their mind based on evidence?

Basically, there are a lot of Christian/Muslim questions on here challenging "non-believers" to believe in the face of God. Do these people seriously think that someone that believes based on evidence rather than blind faith would deny the existence of something right in front of them?

Do they not realize that they were raised to believe what they believe. It's not like they actually chose Jesus, they were force fed it. So if they had been born into a Jewish family they would have been Jewish or an Islamic family, islamic and so on. I was raised in the christian church, but I kind of like Buddahs ideals, wish I would have had a choice when I was younger

Islam and all the innocent Muslims around the world are not to blame for the mindless actions of a few individuals.

Why are we still having to apologise??

When will someone apologise for the thousand upon thousand innocent lives (and not just Muslim lives, but the lives of the soldiers also) lost in Iraq and Afghanistan??

Do you really call this justice??

This question is not whether one should or should not have faith or if faith is good or bad. I am only asking whether or not faith is rational or irrational, and why?

You can breathe..Well for people who believe in GOD they cannot see him but they feel his presence and his guidance.. If you took away Air we would all die because we could not breathe and if you took away GOD we would all die in vain.

So there is no difference between God and Air
Unless you know differently?

I believe his purpose in resurrection was to demonstrate that the human is more than a physical flesh and blood body. We have existance and reality outside the physical.

How can people believe in someone that they've never ever seen? And there is no valid proof that God even exists. How can someone seriously live in the clouds AKA Heaven? That's so dumb. There is no God, God can not hear you pray, God does not watch you, get over God!

I know they are third to bow down and giv praise to God, after the Seraphim and Cherubim , but isn't that basically it. I know the word "angel" means "messenger", but sometimes God delivers His message on His own. Just in case if u think I'm trying to lure u in2 a trap, I ain't; trust me.

Atheism is just supposed to be a belief in the absence of Deity, however I have noticed a definite huge dash of Skepticism in most Atheists attitudes. It seems that, even tho there is no reason why an Atheist could not be a believer in reincarnation, they seemed to have taken in Skepticism as part of the Atheist way, and rejected everything, with scientific acceptance of an idea as a requirement for their acceptance of it themselves.
~unknown~

Sad to see people that claim to be freethinkers, just exchanging one religion for another, except with their new religion just hiding inside a mantle of scientific hooey.

Although the phrase of “the lion shall lie down with the lamb” is one of the more popular quotes from the Bible, it’s really misquoted. In the King James version, it’s the wolf that dwells with the lamb, and it’s a leopard that lies down with a kid, and “the calf and the young lion and the fatling together.” (Isaiah 11:6)

My question is regardless of who is hanging out with whom, when a carnivore lies down with a herbivore, what do the carnivores eat? Metaphorically speaking, a leapord can't change its spots.

It's interesting that the things we dislike most about others are often the things we need to work on in ourselves.
