I have read some of the other answers you have been given, and most of them are true, but I do understand your frustration in not having an immediate answer about this. I have spent more time than I want to admit to about finding what it is that God wants me to do with my life. I went to college and explored different classes to try to find the one for me. I had also taken one of those tests at college to see what I would be good at. It was hard. However, I had prayed to God about this. I wanted to do what He wanted me to do. Then I found the thing He wants me to do with my life about 3 years ago. It was probably the one thing I insisted I WAS NOT going to do. So be open to what opportunities are before you. Know your talents and interests. Ask God to close the right doors and to open the right ones also. "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness..and all these things shall be added unto you." Because you are looking for what He wants for you, you will find it. Stay in His will. You will be blessed. Oh, I have also heard of a Christian based site that may help called careerdirect.org. I think that is the site.

That's easy. Become His Son/Daughter. How?

1. Repent of all known sin.
2. Ask Forgiveness for all past sin (from Jesus).
3. Surrender your life to Him (believe in Jesus).
4. Read and Obey the Bible (start in book of John - easy to understand).
5. Find a good church to meet other Christians to grow and be discipled in your relationship with Jesus. ie: Assembly of God, Foursquare Gospel Church are two good ones. Check any yellow pages and call and ask for a ride if you need it.
6. Let thePastor or Youth Leader know you are a new believer and will need some 'assistance' and 'followup' and 'guidance' and this will definately get you off on the right foot!

I made the decision to follow Jesus 22 years ago at the age of 20 and have not turned my back since! I've discovered over and over and over again the plan, purpose and destiny of my life in Christ Jesus! No problem! As you follow Him day by day, you'll get better at knowing exactly what He requires of thee till it becomes truely your 'new nature' 2 Corinthians 5:17

Think about these:
Is there something you really love to do?
What are the things that make you happy?
What are the things you are good at right now?

You may have other questions along these lines. The important thing is to understand that the search for happiness is the search for God. Whatever positive thing you do is not as important as the joy you derive from it; so you could be a kindergarten teacher and be much more fulfilled than working as a company executive. So try to understand yourself; ask God in contemplation; then pay attention to your dreams, intuitions, nudges and events around you because that is the way God talks to us. Do not forget to act on whatever you hear from God.

Through prayer and seeking God. God does not want you to be in the dark about what He has called you to do. Whatever it is He has called you to do, He will tell you when He feels you are totally committed and you have removed all the issues from your life which might keep you from fulfilling your destiny. God will show you your destiny and where you are going in bits and pieces. As you prove to be faithful, He will lay out the plans for your life openly and plainly. But that is also another key "is faithfulness". The bible says you must be found "faithful" in order to be a steward over the things of God.

First, be the best Christian that you can be. Study the bible and become close to God. He didn't tell us when he would call us. For now, he wants us to show love and to love him with all our hearts.

Dear Dawn,
Since God is Someone, I have a feeling and belief that God is actually calling us to BE the person he has created us to to BE, that is, to be in relationship with Him/Her. We begin to discover who we are first of all, my knowing who we really are, not what other people wanted us to be. Then perhaps, depending on our friends, how honest and supportive they are, they will tell us the truth (as they perceive it) about us. And hopefully, we will be open to listen to them. There are many pointers on how to discover the truth about oneself and the God, who is so present in us right at the beginning of our conception. we also begin to know a deeper sense of God in others by their compassion, kindness etc. Prayer alone, with others and with trusted community is another way of discovering one's direction in life. There are lots of ways... and it is exciting.
Hope this is helpful.

you were 'made' to do something, chances are it is the thing you most want to do and will give you the most joy.

Remember, God wants us to use our own free will. She loves to see what we can think up on our own. He delights in watching us test our own creative wings. What is the best way you can put your talents to use to best serve humanity on it's every upward spiriling evolution?
