"But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time for the dead to be judged, and to give [their] reward to your slaves the prophets and to the holy ones and to those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.”" Rev. 11:18) Did Jehovah say, he will bring to ruin the earth or those who are ruining it? If it was the earth how could Revelation 21:3-5 come true? Did the earth sin or mankind? Has there been proof the earth will fit itself if left alone over time? Will mankind fix themselves if left alone? Where is the proof there? Unless they change their greedy want of heart what kind of reward will they get? If you believe the Bible they will go back to dust forever but if you believe your clergy that do not teach truth, that they will not like that hot place. A loving God will let you just go back to dust and know nothing forever! Which do you hope is true? The clergy make money off of not telling the truth!

why should i bother picking up and reading the bible? i'm talking about the ones who say evolution is the theory that people came from monkeys. it's obvious you don't know squat about evoultion. So why do you whine about us not reading the bible if you don't read about evolution?

And if so, what did you do about the inconsistencies that you found?

Such as:

EX 12:13 The Israelites have to mark their houses with blood in order for God to see which houses they occupy and "pass over" them.
PR 15:3, JE 16:17, 23:24-25, HE 4:13 God is everywhere. He sees everything. Nothing is hidden from God.
-----------
RE 8:7 All of the grass on earth is burned up, and then ...
REV 9:4 An army of locusts, which is about to be turned loose on the earth, is instructed not to harm the grass.
-----------
RO 14:21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor anything that might cause your brother to stumble or be offended.
CN 2:16 Let no one pass judgement on you in matters of food and drink.

Or did you just sweep them under the rug of dogmatic mentality?

My question does not favor either "side." In fact, I think "side" is one of the saddest words in a country that was founded on DIVERSE PEOPLE AND CULTURES. It seems our thinking has become very "all or nothing." There's no give and take. If you can't smoke in the middle of the infazima ward, that means you have to ban all public smoking. If you can't FORCE the prayer, you have to BAN the prayer.

I don't understand the attitude of individuals needing to force their ways on the whole world when there is no real purpose to it.

Forcing people to register guns has purpose to it. But what skin is it off your nose if the student next to you says a prayer or doesn't say a prayer.

Doesn't the whole thing come down to ego? It's which group can bully which group. Is this what American was founded on?

Perhaps instead of teaching arrogance and political correctness, we need to teach our kids TOLERANCE.

He made his presence known in the OT and sent jesus in the NT so why doesn't he want us to test him?

In an effort to help out the Christians who populate this board please tell us which you would find the most disturbing.

Someone says to you in a very serious voice:

“If you don’t believe in God you are going to…”

A. Hell
B. Candyland
C. Iowa
D. Rahway, New Jersey
E. Texas
F. Los Angeles
G. eat lutefisk
H. Other (fill in the blank)

For me it is a toss up between C and G.

so the bible states that god is prefect, right? so when god flooded the world to rid it of sin, why is there still sin. sounds like god made a mistake. if he made a mistake then he isnt perfect. and if he isnt perfect then the whole basis of christainity is gone.
what gives?

Hear me out because this pisses me off:

Assume you lend your catholic friend $100. He never pays you back. After years and years of "guilt" your friend goes to confession to confess his sin (taking your $100) and ask for forgiveness. The priest tosses out a penance, say 100 hail marys, and all is well with your friend. I call BS, I say the friend can only be absolved in the eyes of the person from whom he stole.

I hear people pointing fingers this way and that way saying people are wrong for thinking that their way is the only way, but once you really think about it, pretty much everyone in the forum wishes, in some way or another that all of the people that believe differently from themselves, would be more like them!

So when i see an athiests say "stupid christians want everyone to believe like them" I pretty much hear "They should believe like me!" or "Christians think that everything outside of what they believe is wrong" which is really like saying, "Christians are wrong"

I never see christians denying they wish everyone were saved like them so that side is not really a big issue here, it's the other side of people that baffles me.

Agree or disagree and why?

That's just how i see it folks.
