so the bible states that god is prefect, right? so when god flooded the world to rid it of sin, why is there still sin. sounds like god made a mistake. if he made a mistake then he isnt perfect. and if he isnt perfect then the whole basis of christainity is gone.
what gives?

Imperfect man created an imperfect god...

First of all, you don't know what your talking about. Second of all, perfect is a human concept, AND an understatement when describing God. Even though Noah was a good man, he was still a man, and mans nature is sinful. Man inhabits the Earth and man was a creation of God. It's stated that no man was created perfect except Jesus Christ. When God rid the world of wickedness, that was for the time being. But sin is human nature, and Christianity was established on the basis that Jesus Christ was sent by God to forgive everyone for their sins.
Ps. Don't try to understand God, because nobody really can fathom his plan.

Look. Seriously.

1. The earth clearly shows signs of a world-wide flood; just like in the Bible. (petrified trees, fossils, fossilized sea shells on top of mountains, etc.)

Now, we know the flood happened, let's get the other facts right:

Genisis 6:5-8 "5 And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented Jehovah that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 And Jehovah said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the ground; both man, and beast, and creeping things, and birds of the heavens; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of Jehovah." (American Standard Version)

So the point was that man was becoming TOO sinful, not that God wanted to try to wipe sin totally out of the universe.

God did not make a mistake; not by letting sin into the world, not by letting sin continue. He did it because He knows what is Best and that "...all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Ro 8:28b (JKV)
I would sugest that y'all read the Bible, find a standard-looking theology book with explainations (I also reccomend Mere Christianity, by C. S. Lewis) and try to find a real preacher, or more really, so you can bounce questions off them.

God Bless,
J

P. S. I'm not perfect either; check my work.

Well...if you really read....people had the opportunity to get on that ark...they just didn't believe Noah...and God promised that he would never get rid of the sin by flooding the earth...he also said that he would come for us on a cloud and then tribulation....so......I don't see where he made a mistake just because he was sick and tired of all the perversion...same thing with the rapture...he will come when he can't stand it any longer...so beware always be looking and expecting! It is way getting bad again in this ole world!

God will always be perfect, man will never be. We are suppose to be conformed to Christ's image and it is possible to be like Him, but man has freewill and can do as he pleases. When God flooded the earth the world was so drenched in sin He had to start over. But when Jesus died on the cross he paved the way for all sinners to be saved! God promised he would never flood the earth again, but this world will end at some point which only God knows. God bless you and remember He is always going to be perfect!

Where does the Bible say God flooded the earth to rid it of sin? Or was it just sinful humans at the time?

The end of sin and death has been foretold throughout the Bible and will come. Hopefully you are ready.

God flooded the world, but as long as there are people there will be sin as none is without sin.But the next time it rains look for the rainbow.God put it there to remind him never to flood the earth again.

God does not make mistakes. Everything he does is done for a purpose. He sends messages and teaches us how is best to behave through his actions and his word.

The removal of sin is done in an individual basis, it does not mean that sin is forever gone.

God also exists in other monotheistic religions. Not just in Christianity.

I too believe like that. As all religiouns believe that God is omnipotent and all actions come from him and He does not do injustice and treats all humans as equal to any of his creation then what is beauty and beast, blackmen and white men floods calamities, destructions, tsunami etc. I am confused

I suppose you are making reference to God with a capital "G" Any other god, I can not speak to. My God is perfect. Just because someone with a finite mind, can not comprehend Gods infinite mind, does not mean God is wrong. It just means that you do not understand. We as Christians accept a lot of what we don't understand on faith. That is why it is called faith.

God flooded the world in order to destroy the wickedness of the world, not to rid the world of sin. That is your wrong assumption, thus proving your point wrong.
