And if so, what did you do about the inconsistencies that you found?
Such as:
EX 12:13 The Israelites have to mark their houses with blood in order for God to see which houses they occupy and "pass over" them.
PR 15:3, JE 16:17, 23:24-25, HE 4:13 God is everywhere. He sees everything. Nothing is hidden from God.
-----------
RE 8:7 All of the grass on earth is burned up, and then ...
REV 9:4 An army of locusts, which is about to be turned loose on the earth, is instructed not to harm the grass.
-----------
RO 14:21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor anything that might cause your brother to stumble or be offended.
CN 2:16 Let no one pass judgement on you in matters of food and drink.
Or did you just sweep them under the rug of dogmatic mentality?

You don't really expect people to be honest and say that they have, do you? That would show that they aren't as devout as they want people to think.

Actually I was totally against organized religion for decades. I questioned all of them, sometimes just for the sake of questioning.
God had to make sense to me, or else God did not exist. However, if you extend that same standard to subjects you have not studied, then anything we find difficult to understand MUST be fictional. That's not the way things work.
Now that I've had a chance to observe and review the circumstances surrounding religion as a whole, I've come to the conclusion that true religion is the most subtle aspect of life. After all is said and done, and your life is near an end, there is only one thing that no one can every take away from you, and that is your spirituality.
Blessed are those who question, hear the answer, and continue to question if they do not yet understand. Doubly blessed are those who realize that there are some things that they can never understand, and accept them with serenity for the sake of peace-of-mind.

1) The Angel of Death passed over, not God.
2) The first verse is about the physical earth, the second use grass and trees metaphorically for God's children i.e spiritually alive.
3) Read what God said to Peter in Acts10:9-16

I won't waste my time explaining these passages - but you should be ashamed if you think of yourself as some sort of scholar. How can you randomly quote things from the Bible without understanding their context? These passages must be understood in context.
We are not sweeping "inconsistencies" under the "rug of dogmatic mentality" - that sounds really scholarly - but I suggest you use your intellect to read the Bible and investigate it, understanding it in its context and reading it with an open mind. Otherwise, you've become just like a mindless Christian - something, I would guess, you despise.

There are no inconsistencies in these verses.
Exodus 12:13 was not for God "to see which houses" had blood on them, but it was a test of faith for the Jewish people to believe in their God. The verse reads: "The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt."
Revelation passages are symbolic. (isn't that what non-believers are always telling us?)
Romans 14 read the context.
Colossians: Context, context, context. You don't want me to do all your thinking for you, do you?

I question everything that is taught to me, whether by book, man or tradition.
If I find inconsistencies I research them and ask questions of friends and scholars.

While I was a believer, I questioned sometimes, and quickly stopped so as to prevent myself from losing faith.
Of course, it was only a matter of time before I didn't catch myself questioning, now I'm a free thinker!
