God did not mean that he regreted his creation by saying that he was sorry. He meant that he was saddened by our sins. That in no way means that he is not perfect.....but that we are not. God gave us free will.....we choose right from wrong. He wished that Adam and Eve had chose right but they chose wrong which saddened him. But guess what.....he still loved em. You would never tell your kids that you regret having them no matter how disappointed you are in them now would you?

Regret is NOT an attribute of a Perfect Being. So, since, in Genesis, God states that he is sorry for his creation, then God cannot be Perfect, as a perfect being would have no need to feel sorry, nor would he have created an imperfect creation. So, either God doesnt exist, or He isnt Perfect.

Which is it?

“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth...And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them” (Genesis 6:5-7).

He had made no prior promises to invalidate his actions in this instance(the great flood)

God is also limited by his nature,in that he can not lie.

The promised Messiah came and fullfilled his promise. God can not repent(change his mind) concerning the promise of the substitutionary sacrifice of His Son(Jesus Christ) and for the eternal life that is inherent to those who will to believe.

Yes.

Gen 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

Because the overall plan of God is Salvation.

Study to show thyself approved.

I couldn't imagine God regretting that.
Jesus saved all of man by what He did for us.

(and He died for you, too, Meatbot) =)

In Genesis.....God was sorry that He ever created us because of our sin....

Thus, the great flood.

This in no way however, means that God made a mistake...that is not possible with God
