Out of curiousity,- its taught in the mormon (LDS) religion that god has already planned our life for us ahead of time, and already knows how our life will be played out or lived;

My Question is-
1.) if he has already planned our life out and knows how we are going to live our life what is the point of even living our life if its "pre-destined."
2.) What is the point of testing us if he already knows we are going to do what he planned for us to do...why not just take us straight to judgement day and skip earth on life?
3.) If consumption of caffeine, coffee, etc. is discouraged and a word of wisdom issue in the church.. Why do mormons eat chocolate? it HAS caffeine in it, but unlike soda w/caffeine it is acceptable.
4.)most random of all- if god created the earth, everything on it why is marijuana considered as harmfull when it is a plant or medicine in some cases... Why does it damage "our bodys that should be treated as a temple pure and clean when can be used for medical use"

One of the lines that these foolish atheists like to attack is in Exodus Chapter 32, Verses 24-28. In these verses Moses comes down with the Ten Commandments and sees his people worshipping a golden calf. He orders three thousand people killed because of this.

Atheists try to paint this as a bad thing, when in reality Moses had to do this. People talk about freedom of religion, but the bottom line is these slaves had to have known about the miracles he did. To worship another god was pure ignorance and they had to die as an example to the others. They were slaves and they were not brought up right, so they needed an example that the others would pay attention to.

Moses gave them a chance to come to him before they died, but they REFUSED to do it due to ignorance.

You have atheists now that try to attack these verses and they just don't get it. Dying is not the worst thing that can happen to you. Also, we are not God. Only God can judge. It is not our place to question anything

if someone kills someone that was going to be the next hitler, does he still go to hell because the guy hasn't become an evil man yet, or does god know that he will become the next hitler so it justifies him killing the next hitler eventhough the next hitler hasnt become the next hitler yet?

its like saying u go back in time and kill hitler as a baby, will u still go to heaven for doing that, or do u go to hell?

By that I mean, where ends "innocence" ?

I've been reading some of the comments about aborted embryos and fetuses all getting to go straight to heaven. And Mormons apparently believe children up to age 8 who die, will go to heaven (why 8???)

I'm curious about your thoughts, or what you've been taught in your particular church.

At what point does God damn children to hell if they die before they've made a decision to accept Christ?

If a Christian shared the message of Jesus Christ and then followed it up by performing a miracle (eg: healing a cripple or blind person), that you were satisfied was totally authentic, would you be more inclined to believe the message they shared?
Please don't side-track into why there ARE or CAN BE no miracles. I'm not looking for theology, just yes or no. Spare me the sarcastic one-liners. They generally come from ppl too chicken to face the question. Whatcha think?

I was wondering how Christians felt about secular music such as Eminem and 50 Cent being played in the background at church youth meetings while the youth assemble and play games.

here are some things i gathered from reading biggoted posts directing hate toward christians, i would like to know what you think of them, also christians and anyone feel free to chime in..
1. following a star will lead you someplace, sailors used stars for navigation FOR CENTURIES! you think it couldnt work to find a new born king?
2. why persecute and deconstruct things you dont understand, such as christs message of the truth, LOVE, and EQUALITY (we are all gods children and worthy of his love) it seems to me that the people who bash him always say way spun out of control statements and dont posess a knowlege of what the truth is why make yourself look so ignorant?
3. why be a biggot? why would you put it out there so strong that you hate, and are biggoted? those are not attractive traits! we all need to get along, i have NO PROBLEM with someone who doesnt beleive or someone who beleives something else, why do non beleivers persecute?
4. if you dont beleive why do you care at all?

A person (Jaiden) is sitting at a park bench writing in a book. Another person (Kaiden) walks up and asks "What are you writing about?"
__Jaiden answers "I'm writing a book about my family's religion. We believe that the world was created from a tiny grain of Corn, which is why we worship Corn as our God and savior."
__Then Kaiden says "Well thats the stupidest thing I've ever heard! How can corn be God? Corn is food and besides everyone knows that the great Oracle is the one true God."
__"Not everyone believes that the Oracle is God. Who's to say that your religion is better or more right than mine? My family has believed in Corn for 500 years and the Oracle has only been around for 150 years. My religion has stood the test of time while yours is still a baby by comparison" said Jaiden.
__Kaiden and Jaiden argued for some time about who's religion was right, neither of them giving an inch. In the end they walked away, having solved nothing.

Why do the Christians think they own this place? We who follow in different believes than their own seem to get shoved into a burning pit they call Hell. Why cant they see that we have things to say too, though they may not think they are important we still have the right to say them. Am I right?

I'm doing a prayer project for my school and my theme is accepting failure, so I was wondering if there was a Bible verse I could use to show that failure is alright, as long as you try harder next time. Or something to deal with that. Right now I have 2 songs, one by Number One Gun and one by Underoath. Also, if you know of any good movie scenes that have to deal with accepting failure, thanks!

why are you here. atheists cannot provce there is no God, they can only point out contradictions in religious texts. believers can't prove there is a God they can only share how they feel. so why are you here, to spread what you think, or to spread half-truths or theories. seriously, what is YOUR motivation?

for all of the people involved in this terrible event. Thank you!
Will you agree with me in prayer? Heavenly Father, We lift up the families and friends of all who are involved at Virginia Tech today. Give them comfort and help them to deal with their loss and show them how You would have them respond to this. In the blessed name of our savior Jesus Christ. Amen!

for me, it was when this total stranger took me to the hospital after I'd been in a terrible car wreck. It would have taken a longer time for the ambulance to get there, than for him to take me. I was bloody and muddy, but he let me in his truck, and waited until he knew I was ok at the hospital.

If the symbol used to be a fish then why was it switched to a cross, I know it was the enemy of Christ that named his followers. Under whose rule was this switched and why. The fish was used because Jesus was a fisher of souls. If we can switch symbols that easy then what does it all mean?

I am putting this question in spirituality because in psychology they would say all such contacts are hallucinations. Abraham, Moses, John Smith, Muhammad all had such contacts that are accepted as fact by billions of people. Many people who believe in those contacts might think that a person wandering down the street who claims such a visitation is in need of counseling. I have personally had a few spirit contacts in my dreams. My dad investigates homicides and a few times I dreamed about details involving his cases. When I told him of these dreams he would write down what i would tell him and he says these often provided him with clues or leads. These times are scary but only happen occasionally and always when he's home. He and I have some ability to read each others thoughts and he is always by my bedside whenever I've had such a dream and he wakes me up and kisses me and than I feel better and than I tell him about my dream.

...When since 2002 there has been 1 count of kidnapping, 8 counts of arson, 11 counts of attempted bombing or arson, 40 counts of assault, and 44 counts of stalking on the part of Christian extremists?... One of the most notable of these would be the September 11, 2006 attempted bombing of a women's health center in Iowa in which a man drove his car through the doors of a clinic he wished to destroy... This clinic, for the record, did not preform abortions.

While, since 2002, the most extreme crime I've heard of a Muslim extremist committing in the US since 2002 has been smuggling cigarettes across (more taxed) state lines...

Are Christian terrorists just too incompetent at their attempted destruction to matter, or is the media scared of offending Christians by showing them these things?...
