Once you succumb to faith and belief as your view of religion the illogical will become logical. Evil will become justified and atrocities will become acceptable.
God does not own that which is eternal to me. It was mine in the past and will be in th future. The true ignorance is believing in false data. That which is obvious to me will never be seen by those co-opted by a belief system that is not a representation of the eternal laws of creation.

Erm, one should still have the freedom to interpret the miracles they witnessed as they please, shouldn't they?... Isn't killing just a BIT extreme?... Saying "it is not our place to question, this system of morals was ordained to be correct by a creator" is exactly what is wrong with religion today in my view, it's that kind of thinking that bring extremism to the levels of violence it reaches, people follow what they're told is God's word blindly.
All the same, even if this was the ULTIMATE possible in ignorance... Do people diserve to die for what you just called ignorance?.... Ignorance is a lack of knowledge, one doesn't truly want to be ignorant, they simply make incorrect assumptions... Shouldn't we enlighten the ignorant rather than slaughtering them?... If it is okay to slaughter the ignorant, wouldn't the 9/11 attacks be justified?... We are, after all, from their viewpoint, willfully ignorant...
No one, for any reason, should kill another human being if it will not prevent more loss than it will create... What was at stake here really?... Couldn't Moses just take any that still believe and leave the calf worshipers to do as they would?...

No, I don't agree, and no, I don't get it.
Tell me then, what chance did these "slaves who were not brought up right" stand? They were, to paraphrase you, too ignorant to know better, therefore they were doomed. That doesn't sound either fair or right to me.
I'm reading the OT at the moment. What is glaringly obvious is that it is an account of horrifically stark, violent times, and the writers looking back were trying to make some sense of all the torture and death. The endless waves of attacks, sometimes one group in the ascendancy, sometimes another, would be difficult to comprehend at any time. It's not surprising that a "supernatural" reading was given to it - who wants to admit that people can act so atrociously of their own volition?
But it's stories, it's not history. And there's no way you will ever convince me that it is in any way "moral" to use worshipping the "wrong" mythological entity as an excuse for cold-blooded murder.

Maybe we should kill three-thousand christians to get the point across. To worship a god is pure ignorance and they would die as an example to others. They have been indoctrinated since they were kids and were not brought up right, so they need an example that otheres will pay attention to.

> One of the lines that these foolish atheists like to attack is in Exodus Chapter 32, Verses 24-28
I never heard of this verse before. However, the way you describe it, it does sound awfully silly, and I can certainly understand why people might laugh at people who think this is something important. Thank you for giving me another belief to laugh at. Ha, ha.

No. I disagree.
Atheists are without God. They have heard the revelation and rejected it.
Any other statement is foolish especially since they have reject the revelation.
Bible is a book for believers not a conversion manual. As Christians, our job is to teach all nations, not to convert everyone. When Christians encountered non belief, they should follow Jesus lead.
People attacking Christianity is not new. You can see where people did not believe Jesus no matter how many miracles Jesus did. [John 12]
Answer: Atheism has nothing to do with attacking Christianity.

Why are you capitilising the C for Christians, yet no longer the A for Atheists?? lol the two is actual... we are the two accountable of doing that in the time of Y!A... unwell upward thrust up and admit it, im accountable of doing so... yet unwell never get vicious or nasty approximately it. I dont actually "attack"... i dislike all the Christians I even have ever met, I even have reason to doubt in spite of if Christians on listed right here are any distinctive... there would desire to be some good in the entire Christian society... basically wish i knew one individually...

Some atheists are former christians and know the christian bible quite well so no I do not agree. Some just can't take criticism of their beliefs and if someone else gets under their skin that badly perhaps they don't have as much faith as they thought they had.
In this life, it is our right to question anything that affects our lives. To not do so is to become like a docile animal who is told every aspect of their existence. If some wish to choose that fine, they have to live by it (if you can really call it living) but I never will.

But we have to question. Living your life without asking questions or even wondering....might as well be dead.
And I've never quoted the golden calf story. I prefer the story about how Aaron and Miriam complain to God about Moses' Ethiopian wife, yet God only gives Miriam leprosy, and nothing happens to Aaron, even though they both complained equally. Just shows you how loving and fair God really is, huh?

Naturally, you would think it justified when your murderous God goes on a rampage.
Personally, I prefer to show how loving and merciful God is by quoting 2 Kings 2:23-24. You know which story that is don't you?
In case you don't, it's the one where God sends two bears to kill a group of children for taunting Elijah about his bald head. Now that's all-loving!
