Did he really need to give away the souls of his most wayward sheep and condemn them to everlasting hellfire? Seems kind of mean to me.

In Hindu philosophy it is said, that there are two birds in a tree. One bird sits on the top and simply watches the other birds which hops from branch to branch and tastes the sweet and bitter fruits of the tree. The watching bird is taken as God, simply witnessing. the other bird is individual soul which eats the bitter and sweet fruits of life. The tree is actually life. We understand the scenario. But how do you relate this in day to day life or do you accept such theory?

Believers can say that God will one day show himself (of herself) to us and we cannot say otherwise; alternatively they can state that God is revealed to those who die.

These two points cannot be, I believe, disproved; so do you ever think science will be able to prove there is absolutely no God(s)?

I am no expert so I apologise if I have my facts wrong, and I am keeping my own views on the subject hidden so as to hope for sensible, unbiased and relatively informed answers- thanks

looking at the internet you'll find tons of different groups claiming that they represent the truth, e.g. claiming the name of
YAHWEH, YAHSHUA, JESUS, GOD, or whatever. It's sickening. There is no Truth at all. That's the real TRUTH!!!!

I have found that when you test the god of the Mormon spirit, you get a lot of the same answers that I was getting 30 years ago. Very vague and very secretive. I know the saying," Some things are secret and some things are sacred." Christ never belonged to a secret society. He called the Pharisees ( the religious rulers of Israel) a den of vipers. So I will no longer test the spirit of the Mormon church on this web. It's a waste of time when you cannot get truthful answers from anyone who claims to be LDS and from those who have been instructed on how to avoid direct questions with little or no knowledge of thier faith. I know what happens when you leave the Mormon church, You are more afraid of your family and church than you are of hell itself. And I know they know this in the very deepest recesses of thier hearts. So goodbye and God bless.

This is an excellent article. It dispells common myths about women in Islam. If you have an open mind and read it, you will see for yourself. Islam is completely different from culture, but sadly, so many "muslim" men who are muslim only in name have taken their very brutal culture and called it Islam, forcing it on women who are kept weak and told they are less so they must let a man control them. I know for a fact Islam does not do this. Is it really hard for some to differentiate between culture and religion? It isn't for me. When I was in Pakistan, I even refused to participate in many of the "traditions" because they were left over from when they were Hindus, and I am not a Hindu, no offense meant to those who are. And the funny thing was, my father in law supported me and nobody said or did anything nor thought about it. I wish people would just open their eyes.

Why did the scribes forget to mention the 200 ton man-eating creatures that God created and must have been running around with Adam and Eve?

Why, if the scribes knew the ill-effects of eating shellfish and forbid the eating of shellfish, did they fail to mention that it was not the shellfish at all but the microbes God created that made people sick?

Can you explain to me the concept of praying to Saints? Do you pray to or through Saints? Question arises from one question I read here yesterday, when some girl asked to which Saint she has to pray because she lost something. I don't mean to offend anyone, but why do you have to pray to a Saint (who was nothing but a mere mortal, even though he/she was of high piety)? Why not just ask God?

Again, I'm sorry if I offended someone, I just don't understand the concept. Thanks in advance :)

Our memory accumulates all the rubbish, unwanted theories, likings and dislikings, personal prejudices, predilictions. Empty yourself so that the cup can be filled with grace said Sai baba. It seems logical that when the cup if already filled, how it can be filled with grace. What is your opinion on this?

He damned all of his children whom he loved, to hell, until Jesus came along. That was pretty stiff punishment for the sin of others; namely Adam and Eve.

He once drowned the whole human race, whom he created and loved.

Even today AIDS babies are born and die without ever growing reading the bible going forth to multiply or anything else.. This too seems pretty harsh treatment of the innocent whom he loves.

God has a pretty sick definition of love if you ask me.

I created children and if I had my way (Godly power) I would see to it that they never suffer physical or mental pain, or death, and only unthinkable evil behavior by them could cause me to damn them to hellfire forever.

I just don't get God's philosophy that's behind this rollercoaster of creation, suffering, joy death reward punishment...what is this a frikking game?

Can someone explain it to me?

I love my family; the feel of a warm breeze caressing my face and skin; the feel of swimming in a mountain river; a wonderful sunset; the smell of spring flowers on a warm, gentle wind; young lovers; love in general; pets and their unconditional love (who I believe are angels on earth!); the blessing of having been able to watch my children grow into such splendid, graceful, compassionate people who have opened my heart to such love I would give my life for them.

I could think of much more, but I'll leave that to you. ;-))

"Thomas Jefferson argued that slavery was wrong and should be abolished, but since Jefferson himself owned slaves, it clearly was not wrong." - ad hominem

"Believe in God or burn in Hell." - ad metam

"It hasn't been proved true, so it must be false." - ad ignorantiam

"Most Americans hold that the Vietnam War was morally wrong. Therefore, the Vietnam War was morally wrong." - ad numerum

"Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense!" - Chewbacca Defence
