The Gospel of Judas, i think was just some kind of carefully crafted gospel by a group of men to try and look at Judas the man at a different angle and not as we all know as the one who batryed Jesus Christ, and thereafter hanged himself.
That Gospel was released at some time arouund last Year's Easter season so as the try and dilute the whole message of the Cross.
Such gospels are meant to introduce new ideas to our minds aimed at disorienting us or diverting us from the truth we know about him.
Have a blessed day

Here you go, why not read if for yourself? Just remember, what others claims as heresy, is only their opinion. Tee "Christian" church removed 13 books from the Bible after Martin Luther "decided" they were not "scripture," long after the Council of Nicea determined that they were. Since then, they have been put back in and taken right back out, until they were "officially" removed in the late 1800's. The original "King James Version," had them, today's version, does not.

BTW, the Gospel of Matthew was written 100 years after the death of Jesus, yet Romans was written 50-60 years after the death of Jesus? Matthew was allegedly a disciple, but Paul (Saul) never met Jesus, yet he wrote about him first? Don't be so quick to judge something based upon when it was written, NONE of the Gospels were written during the lifetime of Jesus.

Peace,

Beki

It is a Gnostic Gospel that was forbidden by the Church a long time ago. I believe it is available to read at this point. The gnostic gospels are heavily disputed but very beautiful. There is a book called 'Living Buddha, Living Christ' that uses the gnostic gospels as a great connector between the Buddha and Jesus's actual teachings. Best to you.

The gospel of Judas recently appeared on Discovery channel and in National Geographic. It is fairly lucid and you can actually find versions of it online.

The gospel itself is one of the earliest referred to gospels in the ancient codices (sort of like reference lists) and almost certainly predates at least 2 (if not all) the other gospels. It was 'lost' (read suppressed and destroyed) in the mid second century. There are other well known gospels that were suppressed, i.e. Gospel of Peter anyone? He's the supposed 'rock of the church' and his gospel is suppressed.

Hi there look I am not trying to be sarcastic or ignorant with you but the Gospel of Judas just like the Gospel of Thomas is the Gnostic equivalent of the Da Vinci code,in other words false and contrived sensationalism.

All I know is that he got the crap end of the stick. He was the most intelligent, most enthusiastic, and no wonder his position was to sit next to Jesus (was his left hand man, MM was his right hand woman). Too much nonsense has been attributed to the poor fellow. Actually I think Judas is Peter and Peter is Judas, know what I mean? Do a lot of reading and you’ll find out.

Yeah, I got it for Christmas last year. Very interesting read.

It was written around 60AD, making one of the earliest gospels in existence. The last historical reference to it was around 130AD, so it's been lost for over 1800 years. The manuscript was discovered a few years ago, then restored and published by the National Geographic Society.

If you want to read it, it's available for purchase from the link below.

Hmm,well,I know that it was written a few hundred of years after Jesus by people who didn't even know Him-so I'd say it's an unreliable source on Jesus.

It's a gnostic text written hundreds of years after Jesus. It was one of many texts written by heretics. It was never accepted by the Church and has no authenticity as a source of knowledge about Jesus.
