I have found that when you test the god of the Mormon spirit, you get a lot of the same answers that I was getting 30 years ago. Very vague and very secretive. I know the saying," Some things are secret and some things are sacred." Christ never belonged to a secret society. He called the Pharisees ( the religious rulers of Israel) a den of vipers. So I will no longer test the spirit of the Mormon church on this web. It's a waste of time when you cannot get truthful answers from anyone who claims to be LDS and from those who have been instructed on how to avoid direct questions with little or no knowledge of thier faith. I know what happens when you leave the Mormon church, You are more afraid of your family and church than you are of hell itself. And I know they know this in the very deepest recesses of thier hearts. So goodbye and God bless.

If the church were a secret society, why do we send out missionaries, in the name of our church? If our temples are secret, why do we flaunt them like we do?

Why do you say we lie? Because we don't tell you what you want to hear? Why do you say we have no knowledge about our faith? Because we don't believe what you say we do, or should?

Believe me, my family (except for my kids) would be thrilled if I left the LDS church.

It might not be because of what the Mormon church does teach that people are finding it difficult to readjust to family life. It might be because of what Mormonism doesn't teach - how to understand how difficult things are? That was just a guess and it would depend on each person's experience of the religion. I don't see how the exiting institution could be putting that fear into you at the last minute except inasmuch as the family is not such a safe place to be for a lot of people and you need coping skills and skills at figuring out what smooth speech means - seven abominations fill your heart. There's no point trying to be perfectionist with your words. More talking is better.

Its talking about all spirits, not just Mormons.

1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

1Jo 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

1Jo 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Many believe that Jesus never came in the 1st advent.

1 Mark 9:39 "Do not stop him," Jesus said. "No one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me,
40 for whoever is not against us is for us.
41 I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward.
42 "And if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around his neck.
43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.
