I think everyone is a bit peculiar, but then again, we are all individuals so that's not exactly a bad thing.
As for Christians as a whole being odd? No. Even though I'm not a Christian, I have many Christian friends and know many people who claim to be Christians (I believe them as far as I can throw the state of Florida) and I wouldn't judge one person based upon the other for anything in the world.
Individuality dabbed with a bit of enigmatic oddity is a good thing... keeps the world an interesting place.
