It is not religions but the followers of religions, who misunderstood and misinterpretate often the religious dictum, are to be blamed. All religions stem from Truth, Love and Non-violence without any difference. Meaning after meanings piled up to the original religious scriptures. Hence there are crooks in every religion who cheat the unwary people to earn a few more bucks.

In general religion does more good than harm. In general world religions practice the same basic things, "Love, Oneness, Do unto others as you would have done unto you, Prayer, etc"
Just because a few misguided people in the world say they are doing evil in the name of religion does not make religion bad.

I'd say if we lump all the religions together and look at the sum of human history so far they have been a negative influence.

Religions are a source of comfort and community, except for extremists and racists.. who get all the media attention so will continue to try to kill instead of cure.

I trust Vishal, of direction, and that i upload that the topic is interior the imprecision of the be conscious "reason." right here, because of the fact "faith" and "technological expertise" are actually not themselves actors or human beings, yet a social equipment of innovations (faith) and a ability for investigating the international and arising honest reasons (technological expertise), we will not say that "faith" or "technological expertise" on my own are the "reason" of something. interior the context of markyy's question, "reason" might might desire to point extra suitable than merely correlation in time, with result Y happening after action X. If we rewrite the question as "in this historic past of mankind, which has been the reason in the back of extra killings, faith or technological expertise?", then it is lots extra obtrusive that there's no good answer, because of the fact there is extra often than not a concatenation of "motives" (reported and unspoken motives, and so on.) in the back of even merely one killing, no longer to point dozens or 1000's or 1000's.

I don't think of it as the religions- I think it is the evil, greedy, misinterpreting, power-hungry, hating mofo's in certain countries that continue to cause this conflict.
They are religious supremacists rather than race supremacists and they suck equally.
