I ask this quite seriously and not to put anyone down.
My work and social life constantly bring me into contact with people from many religions.
I can't help notice that "born again Christians" and Baptists are the least tolerant of the faiths and beliefs of other people. I could understand it if they just didn't like other religions but they don't even like other Christians. Why should this be?

Like when Jesus says that if our eye causes us to sin we're supposed to cut it since it's better to have a place in heaven than have an eye someone says that this is symbolic so we won't sin but " man shall not lie with a woman as he would a man" can't be symbolic to mean that gay love is quite different than straight love, since it is.....(sarcasm: i know the answer, and I know that hatred towards homosexuality has nothing to do with the bible or god)....Take care....

I honestly wonder... do people oppose same sex marriage, protest it, vote against it, etc, because they think that God requires them to do so? I mean, either they're doing God's work or they're being busybodies in the affairs of others (I think the Bible frowns on that...).

So... those of you who make an active effort to write your representatives, sign initiatives and go to the booths all in the hopes of banning same sex marriage...

Will God punish you if you don't oppose same sex marriage on his behalf? Are you fulfilling a divine mission or just poking your nose into issues that have nothing to do with you personally?

(And YES, this question is ONLY for those who oppose same sex marriage. I realize that I can't stop those of you who don't oppose it from chiming in, but I really would like to get at least a few responses from the anti gay marriage folks)

Muhammad's (pbuh) sayings:
To every young person who honors the old, on account of their age, may god apoint those who shall honor him in his years.

Charity is a duty unto every Muslim. He who hath not the means thereto, let him do a good act or abstain from an evil one. That is his charity.

When you see a person, who has been given more than you in money and beauty; then look to those who have been given less.

Whoever suppresseth his anger, when he hath in his power to show it, God will give him great reward.

Two qualities are not combined in any Muslim, avarice and bad disposition.

Do a good deed for every bad deed that it may blot out the latter.

That person is not a perfect Muslim who eatheth his fill, and leaveth his neighbors hungry.

Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave.

He is the most perfect Muslim whose disposition is best; and the best of you are they who behave best to their wives.

As I heard some religion says that Christ is just a man or just a prophet and He is not a God. ….?
All of them have their own basis and they all quoted the bible; sometimes it’s really confusing which is which. A man, a prophet, or a God

I am doing a project in religion class, and I need a bible verse from Luke.
Any suggestions are welcome.
If you know of any that would be meaningful to a christian trying to be in the world, but not of the world, that would be even better!

I do!
Do you think your god would want people to be forced to do what's "right" or let people choose for themselves?
If you TRULY think gay marriage is wrong, don't you think your god will judge these "offenders" in the afterlife?
Is it your job to judge these people?
Is it hurting YOU if a gay couple were to get married?

Protestants, if you know what the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is and you know the history then I have a question. The nun told us that Jesus said that all should pray it. Do you? If not, do you think that the nun is lying or just made up stories of Jesus confronting her? Don't give offensive answers, I'm just curious, I would ask my teachers, but they probably never heard of it. All opinions welcome.

LOl.....Why has God made gay marriage so slow in process!!?? He has only made it possible in like 10 countries, and in 20, they have civil unions, (with the same benefits as marriage but still not the same)....When is God's mission going to be completed in all countries??, and why is this process taking so long?

I read a recent question about abortion and one of the posters quoted text from Exodus 21 stating:
22- And if men strive together, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart, and yet no harm follow, he shall be surely fined, according as the woman's husband shall lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
23- But if any harm follow, then thou shalt give life for life,

The idea being since the bible is treating the baby as a life then it should be in our laws today. Here's where it gets interesting though.... In the very next 2 verses:
24- eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25- burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

This is the tried and true part that we as more "civilized societies" decide to deviate from the bible. We don't cut a mans hand off if he had done the same to another man. We put him in jail.
6- Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God made He man. Hmm..

Do you believe the Bible is the word of God?

Either the Watchtower is wrong, because of what they teach, or the Bible(NWT) is wrong!!
According to John 17:3 "This means Everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ".....this verse says the Jehovah is the only true God right?
According to John 1:1 in the New World Translation, Jesus is "a god"....my question is this, "IS JESUS A TRUE GOD OR A FALSE GOD?

Does it strike the Xians as odd that there is no 1st hand accounts of Jesus outside the Bible?

The accounts of Josephus (faked IMO), Tacitus and others are all just 2nd hand stories. They never saw Jesus, just heard stories from unnamed sources. Doesn't it seem odd that no one noticed this guy allegedly running around feeding 5,000, raising the dead, walking on water, healing people left and right? Does it seem odd that the people who allegedly hated him so much do not even write 1 sentence about him? Isn't it strange that only after his 'resurrection' people started talking about him?

Same goes for Noah, Abraham and others. Outside the bible there is no proof that any of these people ever existed.

Can you even wrap your mind around that fact that all of this is just made up? I have been challenging Xians for years to give me 1 piece of evidence for any of the magical nonsense in the bible. So far no one can.

I think they do. They bash Catholics (the largest reliogion and oldest Christian Church). They attack Islam, the next largest religion. They hate atheists and agnostics equally and do not even bother to differentiate between the two. They go to the gay section to bash homosexuals. In fact i think they do not leave anyone out of their hatred. Do they also hate themselves?
