I have, which is one of the reasons why I am a former Christian. I have also researched other beliefs systems as well. I have found a couple that actually make some sense, but most are just superstitious myths with horrendous histories.

Last year I took the Adult class "Salvation of the Catholic History." It was a weekly class that a nun and a priest taught. The book they used, "Compact History of the Catholic Church" by Alan Shreck gave a balanced picture, and it's theme showed during the worst times, God was still working in mysterious ways. The history actually looks like a stock market graph with lots of up's and downs.
I was in awe on how much Public school left out on History, and felt kinda dumb. Since there were no tests or judegement, I was able to catch up quickly despite a bad education on history.

HA! Anyone who still beleives in religion denies its history. If they knew the true ortigins of their religions, they would no longer practice it...
Last week, I wrote a nice little posting about the origins of Friday the 13th (thanks be to Christians, who demonized Freya (norse goddess) and thanks to the Pope and King Phillip of France for ordering the execution of the Knights Templar in 1308 on Friday, October 13th...) - and a few people simply stated that it wasnt true or they didnt beleive it. HISTORY - and yet they deny the facts.

No, I don't have a religion. But I have studied those of others. I think it's good to know what's on the market so I can make an informed decision.

I know the general history of it. But just the main points, not the little details. I should though. You bring up a good point.

I have researched the history of the LDS Church to which I belong, and though it is filled with persecution and strife, killings and successes, it is better to face today and look toward the future.

I studied many, many belief systems for a number of years before embracing the path I now follow.
