I honestly wonder... do people oppose same sex marriage, protest it, vote against it, etc, because they think that God requires them to do so? I mean, either they're doing God's work or they're being busybodies in the affairs of others (I think the Bible frowns on that...).

So... those of you who make an active effort to write your representatives, sign initiatives and go to the booths all in the hopes of banning same sex marriage...

Will God punish you if you don't oppose same sex marriage on his behalf? Are you fulfilling a divine mission or just poking your nose into issues that have nothing to do with you personally?

(And YES, this question is ONLY for those who oppose same sex marriage. I realize that I can't stop those of you who don't oppose it from chiming in, but I really would like to get at least a few responses from the anti gay marriage folks)

I guess you could call me 'anti-gay marriage' in the case that I don't condone it. I don't however, vote against it, or protest against it either.
Reason being: God does not want his followers to be activists in that sense. We are only to preach the good news actively, not protest against what we don't feel is right.
God wants his followers to remain neutral in such things.
I leave these matters in God's hands as brought out at Isaiah 2:4 which states: "And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples."

Sure sin all you wish to have, that is between you and God. But do not search to vary laws, that influences all, in a nation that was founded under GOD, if you knew your Bible, or even cared to know than you may comprehend that what a nation does impacts a nation as a entire in terms of God and judgment, prosperity ect. Ect. And the entire blessings from God that effect everybody as a nation, even non believers, and so far as separation of state was not intended to achieve what it has grow to be, if only the fore fathers knew that in truth they was opening a can of worms, i am sure they would have worded matters some what another way, God does now not condone marriage between the identical sex, and so far as it being about identification, trade your name and if love and real love than a peice of paper will not be going to make a change And if all else fails, move to a different nation.

I am against same sex marriage, because marriage is between a man and a woman. If you are going to change the definition of marriage, you had might has well just create a new name for it. Marriage is sacred and should be treated such. It is ordained of God to promote a healthy environment for us to reproduce. It is a part of his plan for us, and this is why I oppose same sex marriage, not because I am afraid of punishment. I do not oppose allowing homosexuals to do what they would like to do, and I think that they should be treated like the humans they are, but we should not distort the meaning of marriage to turn it into a tool for tax breaks and other desired outcomes. It should be protected as it is.

I think I will have no objection anymore on this. One way to control over population is this. Then, there are born children being abandoned by their parents so they can help taking over as parents. Another, gays are good at making uglies disappear.
If they are not into fashion, they are into decoration. Even in a shanty house within the impoverished community, it is seldom that you see a house with gays unadorned.
I only oppose them when I see them acting like whores who clings from one man to another like a glutton.
I oppose them for taking advantage of the weaknesses of other people. or oftentimes using their own weaknesses to take advantage of the situation.
Marriage ceremony still appalls me but I do believe they have the rights to have civil agreements on the laws concerning mutual benefits they have both have worked for. as partners.
Punishment of God is applicable only on the abuses of power or strength over the weak. What happened in Soddom and Gommorah is not merely about same sex relationships but is more on violence, immorality and corruptions beyond control. Sodomy was done as a show of strength by man over another man whom they consider weak or whom they try to weaken the spirit like in prison cells in this modern era. I would consider an opposition to this matter as seen and observed as obscene because of those kind of abuses. Not because we are homophobic but because it is not the fault of the man who thinks of himself as otherwise. It is an abnormality in the hormones that hoping some day medicines may find a way to cure it.
Jeremiah 31:22.....The Lord will create new thing on earth--a "woman will sorround a man"
Myra Breckenridge..." I am a woman wrapped in man's body."

I am a Bi Christian and I don't care about Gay marriage. So no. I do not think that God wants me to focus on those things. Rather i would focus on the Gospel message and bring people to understand that we are all needing Jesus. Those that want to come to God are the ones I specifically try to reason with.

specific sin all you elect for, it is between you and God. yet do no longer seek for to alter regulations, that is affecting all, in a rustic that grow to be based decrease than GOD, in case you knew your Bible, or maybe cared to comprehend than you may comprehend that what a rustic does impacts a rustic as an entire whilst it includes God and judgment, prosperity ect. ect. and all the advantages from God that result absolutely everyone as a rustic, even non believers, and to this point as separation of state grow to be no longer meant to end what it has grow to be, if in straight forward terms the fore fathers knew that for the duration of certainty they grow to be placing out a can of worms, i'm constructive they might have worded issues some what in yet differently, God does no longer condone marriage between the comparable intercourse, and to this point because it being approximately identity, replace your call and if love and actual love than a peice of paper can no longer make a difference And if all else fails, pass to a distinctive u . s ..

Marriage is an institution made by the Church. Its Bible says that homosexuality is wrong. Therefore I am against gay marriage, but civil unions and all that stuff... hey, go ahead! I mean, it's not like straight people are perfect when they decide to marry.

no. even if there were no God, i would still oppose it, because i am sorry, it is just not natural...why can't same sexes reproduce when they mate? and i am talking about primates, birds, cats, dogs and even humans...i am not saying that there is not a same sex attraction, or gender identity issues with people...i do get cable t.v....i just think we would all be asexual if opposite sexes were not naturally supposed to attract each other to mate and reproduce.

I really could care less what they do....Very few couples do it because they really want to, as in they really love the person...they do it to spite others...to put "their" relationship in the face of others...(ie parents, family or others who do not approve)...the realtionship doesn't last long enough to be meaningful as it is...

I oppose it because men and women were made to do each other...not men doing men or women doing women...

God will judge, it is not my, nor anyone Else's place, to judge sin, I want to live, where mans laws, and Gods laws are the same.
