I believe that religion is being used to blind people rather than help them. Yes I'll say ALL religion, let's not limit it too Christianity. I think it teaches hipocracy and denial and not love and prosperity. I can go on all day......

Generally, I think all established religion is corrupt to one point or another.

Which is why I say I'm spiritual, not religious. Ofcourse, I don't necessarily believe there is a god or gods.

"I am a god unto myself, so I will decide what is best for me" how I view spiritual affairs.

I do not think true Christians are corrupt but this line of thinking leads to well who are true Christians. I have visited many churches and if I am uneasy or something is said that is not Biblical. I leave. Whether they are corrupt or not, I don't know. I believe God gives believers a discerning spirit regarding his Word and faith. I am sure there are people claiming Christianity who are not real. This is true of everything. I have read about corrupt police, politicians, accountants, abusive parents, abusive teachers, etc. The list would go on to include everything. Thus, final conclusion 'The world is corrupt'. Just like in my list there are good honest people in each category, the same goes for Christians.

~~~ really ,,,, I'm sure you could go on all day ranting an Opinion which is Correct, but which you obviously know very little about and therefore are unable to present an informed POV. I respectfully suggest you Arm Yourself with Knowledge. First compare the characters and events of these 3 Major Religions which predate christianity by 100's and 1,000's of years. Firstly, the ancient Egyptian religion of Osiris, Isis and Horus. Mithraism. Zoroastrianism. Then the historical Powerplay between the Monarchy and Ruling Classes with The Church Authority....and Emperor Constantine, Justinian and King James' "Official" Revisions of The Bible,,,,etc, etc,
Your question is a little general so in order to answer I need to specify exactly what I mean.
Christianity as it is SUPPOSED to be- Living according to the true word which is Jesus Christ and following his example is not corrupt. There are loving, fair minded, peace loving, honest Christians all over the world doing just that.
Christianity as a powerful organised conglomerate dictated by the rules of men who try to wield power politically, socially and economically is VERY corrupt and in fact, UN-Christian when you really think about it.
As long as you mix Christianity and politics, Christianity and money, Christianity and power, Christianity and the human ego, you will have a problem.
And the same goes for ALL religions as well.
This vote is getting cast with the few who have expressed the more obvious fact that it's not the religions themselves that are corrupt, but the people practicing them that can get a tad lost and selfish about interpretations of their claimed belief system for ulterior motive. There are some very wonderful Christians out there, and there are some who claim to be Christian but are very scary plasticized cheapo models. There are some highly wise Pagans I know... and some who claim to be Pagan but who should not be left free to their own devices IMHO. Ad infinitum, it goes both ways in all belief systems.
It is people that make things, label things, manipulate things, or use things for the good of all. "Things" themselves do nothing, they just sit there, if people pay them no mind.
Nahh son. What u see by the media, and what u read in books about the crusades, the witch trials, and all that other crap is just used as a cover-up to all the good things the church has done, and the good it really stands for. We, as Christians accept that these things happened, but must focus on learning from these mistakes, and improving the world we live in now. Since i know that atheists will give me thumbs down for my answer ahead of time, i'll do this... *finger*.
Sometimes it is. But you have to consider that other religions are too sometimes. It is an overgeneralization to say that all Christian religion is corrupt. I do not think Christian religion is a good choice for religion though, it is limiting in beliefs and how you should treat others. They try to make Harry Potter, yoga, gay marriage, and countless other things into sins. Honestly, if you do not want to read/ do/ believe in these things, it is not your place to inhibit others from that. It is discusting how they automatically think magic, gay people, stem cell research, and abortions and many other things are "bad."
Anyone with Spiritual intelligence KNOWS that christianity and every other religion is corrupt, Spiritually corrupt!
Here's how to eliminate the corruption:
"religion is Spiritual fraud"; "religion is the Worse invention of humanity" - Jesus Christ, Buddha and any one else with Spiritual intelligence.
Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!
atheists = all the people in religion
Not just christianity. All religions. All religion is man's vague attempt to understand that which their mind cannot comprehend. Because of this, they create rules to suit their own purposes. Man made religion and religion is therefore corrupt in general. Not just one particular religion.
All large and powerful organizations tend toward corruption (*lot's* of well-researched material available - Google < "Corporate Corruption" >, for instance), and those with self-governance (e.g. religions) tend to be worse. As just one example, see Source.
