People keep saying the Romans killed Jesus, or the Jews killed Jesus. Didn't he tell us it is finished? Then gave up his spirit himself?

I posted a similar question, but now I have uploaded a picture of it so I thought that might help. I'm sorry it is not extremely clear.

I don't. They killed Jesus and they are in enough trouble until they realize who He is so we should all leave them alone.

Muslims say that their religion has a code of behavior just as the Jewish and Christian. It goes father than that by saying that it has a good way of enforcing that behavior, such as cutting off the hand of a robber. They claim that this would make the world a better place. Christianity on the other hand says to forgive the robber and give him a second chance to reform. Christians see Muslims as barbaric people.

Let me present this view to the Muslims: If a person has a sense of morality WITHIN himself, he does not have to have a rule that says society will chop off his hand. The difference is that in Muslim society people are not expected to be responsible to live correctly because of their own inner restraints and the restrains have to be strictly imposed by outside forces of society. This is the same as we do for small children. But when a person matures he is expected to obey the laws of the society because he has internalized those laws into his own code of behavior.

Basically did he leave this earth as a spirit after he rose from the dead? How long after he was ressurected did he live before he accended? If he did leave in spirit form, did they bury his body again? Why don't we have a holiday for the day Jesus accended into heaven but we have one for the day he rose? Wouldn't that be something to celebrate as well? I know it's a lot of questions but i'm having trouble finding answers. Thanks!

If I'm a white Ceo/owner of a company and I don't hire some people of other race I can get into big trouble...... When God says he will only take certain "tribes"(races) Does this seem suspiciously racist?

Because from the reality of history we see that God gave the Holy Land to the descendants of Ishmael 1400 years ago and blessed the Muslims with a 1000 year Empire and so much much more. While God took away the holy land from the children of Israel and sent lots of punishments on them a long time ago. Is Zionism the effort to take away (by any means of force neccessary) the blessings which God gave to the Ishmaelites ? Are they trying to rewrite or recreate history to favor them and ignore the curse of the past 2,000 years ? Interesting to note that Arab genes are the closest DNA match to Abraham through the first son Ishmael ! The Arabs were never invaded, enslaved, dispersed or hellenized.

by creating people who do not want to be created. Now I know some of you will try to be smart and say "our parents make us," but it is really God who provides the soul and makes sure your development as a fetus into a human comes into fruition. Now suppose somebody hated his life due to extreme environmental circumstances (disease, poverty) and hated his/her life. Does that mean God has done the person an injustice, since the person did not want to be born?

I am not the above type, but someone has asked me this question and I had absolutely no answer, want to see what you guys think...

A lukewarm sermon at Mass?

A sermon that talks about high ideals like the war on poverty, violence, and hatred?

Sermons on love and forgiveness?

Sermons about divorce, abortion, homosexuality?

Sermons that talk about God's retribution? Hell? The afterlife and Judgement Day? What expectations God has of us? Our culture and its deterioration?

Firstly I’d like to put my hands up and admit I’ve been guilty of doing this in the past, but surely my fellow atheists will accept that a lot of his ideas were good. Forgiveness for enemies, not casting judgment on others, treating the rich and the poor equally, roundly condemning violence. From a secular point of view, I'd say he's worthy of the same respect Gandhi deservedly enjoys, we just don't think he was divine.

Anyone agree?

in whatever faith they feel is best for them. For whatever reason a person has chosen a belief structure, it is their choice and opinion as to what is best for them.

One would think that this frame of mind would be simple for all to adhere to. Why is it not so? Does not each faith, not taking into account any religious fanatics, have something that we could learn from it? Does not each faith have something inspiring and beautiful to offer? Are you willing to listen to what another has to say about their faith and their beliefs, if they are willing to not tell you you're wrong when/if your belief structure differs from them?

Especially when Jesus said that man will be held accountable for every word he speaks? Also they brag about how they don't smoke or drink but then they will stuff themselves to the max at any all you can eat buffet. Kinda like substituting sugar for sweet-n-low!!! Going from one sin to something that is just as bad. I mean what they do is their business but, They don't have to condemn those who are really making an effort to be everything God would want them to be. I've even heard preachers slander visiting missionaries and eveangelists. They try to justify it. BUT THERE IS NO JUSTIFICATION!!! I am 100% convinced that an evil tounge does far more damage than a part time Christian/Bar hopper! At least the Bar Hopper only harms himself. These people are without a conscience. And no regard for the souls or lives of others. They are a disgrace. They are worse than the worst sinners. They have no right to judge anyone! Regardless of what they are or what they claim to be.

We had a guest preacher at our church today and he brought up this question. The scripture that goes along with this is in John 14:2. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

In a more literal translation mansions are actually rooms. I thought this was a good topic of discussion. I have to say that I don't really desire a mansion. Just to be in my Father's house will be so awesome and indescibable.

If there is no god, then everything is meaningless and temporary. The fools and the wise both come to the same end. If so, then to atheists, nothing matters. If nothing matters, then nothing can be valued. If so, then atheists have no values, and any opinion they have is invalid. Am I right?
