Especially when Jesus said that man will be held accountable for every word he speaks? Also they brag about how they don't smoke or drink but then they will stuff themselves to the max at any all you can eat buffet. Kinda like substituting sugar for sweet-n-low!!! Going from one sin to something that is just as bad. I mean what they do is their business but, They don't have to condemn those who are really making an effort to be everything God would want them to be. I've even heard preachers slander visiting missionaries and eveangelists. They try to justify it. BUT THERE IS NO JUSTIFICATION!!! I am 100% convinced that an evil tounge does far more damage than a part time Christian/Bar hopper! At least the Bar Hopper only harms himself. These people are without a conscience. And no regard for the souls or lives of others. They are a disgrace. They are worse than the worst sinners. They have no right to judge anyone! Regardless of what they are or what they claim to be.

I tried very hard to serve the Lord. I had a tremendous fear and respect for God and everything that belonged to him. I still do in a way! But I left the church because it was more than I could handle. The false accusations and mockery was enough! I needed help and in return I was laughed at and mocked! I have 0 respect for people who behave this way. To them: I might as well not exist.

If anyone needs to get out of the way it is them!!! And sometimes you have to be tough on these people! You can't let them have their way! If you where on the battlefront in combat would you allow a soldier to kill his own? NO!!! In this case its different because its not physical combat. But I think if I where the pastor I would tell them to take there garbage somewhere else!

How can you help people reach a higher standard if they already believe that their standard is higher than yours?

thats why it was said that the tongue is like a double-edged sword, it can do more harm than we can ever think of. and there aint anything we can do to people like this. Its better to commit them unto God's hand and let Him deal with them. And as for our part, i think forgiving is important. So just forgive them, cos we aint prefect enough to judge anyone.

I agree for the most part, but you should know (if you are a Christian) that we are to judge righteously. You can't be hypocritical (calling out a sin, which you are actively committing on the down low). If I'm a glutton, then I can't say to someone, "don't stuff your face like a glutton would."
We all are faulty, we all fall short, that does not mean we don't help guide each other on the path of righteousness. If we did not judge our brothers and sisters righteously, then no one would be moving forward in Christ. Each would do as they saw fit, not what God has commanded.
I agree that is better to keep your mouth shut most times. i believe there's a time to talk and a time to listen....people do way to much talking.
edit** "How can you help people reach a higher standard if they already believe that their standard is higher than yours?"
If they believe this then they don't understand even basic scripture. Is their standard higher than God's? I think not. We all have learning and growing to do. Each one of us is being perfected, we are not perfect. Pride and egotism is the enemy of all people. A Christian who is new in faith can just as easily teach someone who has studied scripture for 50 years! What gifts and knowledge God gives to each individual is to be used for one purpose...for His glory, by His will. If someone thinks so highly of themselves that they cannot be taught, then it is time to concentrate your efforts elsewhere.
I'm sorry for what you had to go through at your church. If I can help and if I am able to answer any question you might have, just e-mail me. If I don't know the answer, I will tell you as we all are undergoing a growing process.

It's called "legalism" and it's a draaaag. That's why Jesus spoke about taking the log out of your own eye before trying to take the "mote" or speck, out of someone elses eye. Hypocrites abound, and I for one, unfortunatly am in that group by virtue of being a human. Can anyone keep the laws? Jesus said that if you brag on keeping one, you must keep them all. If we could keep them all, then would we need Grace? I smoke cig's. I have a beer or glass of wine from time to time. God's not done with me yet, and He's not done with you either. The person who sits in judgement on my life, had better have his own house in order, cuz if he/she doesn't, they'll figure it out in the first five minutes of chattin with me. Salvation is an event, sanctification is a process. Be gentle with the schmucks, stand back and vow not to be one of em, then go and provide encouragement to the ones they have slandered. Tell em Rebar sent you. :D

First, you ought to know that most people who claim to be Christians are not.
Second, you need to realize that Christians are human, and like anhy human, are prone to sin. If we were perfect, we would not need Jesus, now would we?
Finally, instead of harsh words and anger, why not try to help these people to reach a higher standard? Be their example....
As it is said...
Lead, follow, or get out of the way.

how do you feel when you do not do something considered non sinful, like not smoking, or drinking, do you feel proud that God keeps you well, a christian knows not to look down their noses at someone who drinks or smokes or involved in someother kind of sin, the bible explains what steps are to be taken in these situations, why do people slander people anywhere, they do not know better, you know how Jesus has warned us not to hold ourselves up to Him,in such a way, Jesus died to save such sinners, so what does Jesus say to your heart about such people, they must not know Jesus, or who and what are they trying to fool or put across, God have mercy on them, they are God,s business, where you can help or bring light to those who are in darkness, do so, have a good day, God,s mercy and Love be yours

I have the same problem with churches. However, do not judge the creator by the creation. We should both keep working on our own relationships with Christ and not let what other men do determine what we do or do not do. Lets both agree to be the best we can be and reflect the love of Christ in our lives. What do you say?

Let us now not consequently pass judgement on one an extra to any extent further: however pass judgement on this instead, that no guy placed a stumblingblock or an celebration to fall (purpose an extra to sin) in his brother's approach. Romans 14:thirteen Therefore pass judgement on not anything earlier than the time, till the Lord come, who each will convey to gentle the hidden matters of darkness, and can make occur the counsels of the hearts: one million Cor four:five Speak now not evil one in all an extra, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the regulation, and judgeth the regulation: but when thou pass judgement on the regulation, thou artwork now not a doer of the regulation, however a pass judgement on. There is one lawgiver, who's ready to avoid wasting and to spoil: who artwork thou that judgest an extra? James four:eleven-12 But the tongue can no guy tame; it's an unruly evil, filled with lethal poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we guys, that are made after the similitude of God. Out of the identical mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, those matters ought now not so that you can be. James three:eight-10 If any guy offend (damage) now not in phrase, the identical is a excellent guy, and ready additionally to bridle the complete frame. James three:two The approach Christ could have treated it's as this: He could have stated to the accusers, that if any of them are with out sin, then they will have to solid the primary stone at her. But then He could flip additionally for your daughter, and inform her, Go and sin not more.
