I want to repeat something I said in an earlier posting
My maternal grandmother was Presbyterian. The family moved to a small community in Texas where there were 2 churches, not Presbyterians. Ministers from both churches called on the family.
One spoke very disparagingly of the other church.
When he left, my grandmother said, "I can tell you one thing, we are not going to his church."
I heard a priest tell of a family in East Texas who converted to Catholicism. What made them inquire into the Catholic faith is that they knew a Catholic family that never had anything unkind or catty to say about someone else's faith.
Shouldn't we all realize that when we speak ill of other religions we do not reflect well on ourselves or on our own faith?

My best friend and boyfriend of two years is leaving in a few months to serve an LDS mission. He will be gone for two years, and I won't be able to communicate with him beyond hand-written letters. Worst of all, when he comes back he will have nothing to do with me. The shame of marrying a non-mormon would be too great. It will be as though he has died.

I want to go on and love other guys. I want to date and have fun, and just move on from this relationship. But, he's the first guy that I've loved and our relationship is perfect. My naive beliefs were that love and hard work build a relationship, and religion only plays a minor role to enhance trust and interest in one another. I never thought that I would be rejected because of my spirituality until he told me that we could never be wed.
Our situation seems so archaic and cold. How can I deal with his departure and not harbor ill feelings toward him and his religion?

He still loves me very much, and I love him as well.

Isn't it the word of God or the word of Man? It would seem that the god portrayed in the Old Testament is jealous and mean. But isn't this the word of god as well? Hmm.

I see so much of God's Spirit Everyday and in Everything I do. I see the world and see the Phrophecies of the Bible comming "True"!

You can look at the Bible in one hand & the paper in the other - Same thing! It;s Exciting to live right now - I Love IT! PTL!

I Love living in this time - Isreal is there from 1948 for the first time in over 2500 years - It was a "Promise of God for Isreal to come in 'our' life-time to show that we are in 'The Latter Days'.

I love living in the "Latter Days." It's Exciting.

Even the Book of Daniel was promised not to be unerstood till the "Latter Days." Daniel 12:9 "And he said; Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed and sealed up till the time of the end"10 "Many shall be purified and made white and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and non of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand." KJV.

That is the version that I use. I Pray that this answers your question.

Take Care - God Bless!

All I ever see are questions asking why atheists reject Christianity. For some reason, no one ever asks why we reject Islam.

A question was asked just a few minutes ago, and the asker wanted to know why ANYONE--meaning everyone who is not Christian--would reject Jesus.

That seemed a little smug.

So I'm wondering what it is I've missed. When was God declared a Christian, and how do you know that he is?

I know you think it's the word of god but there are some real nasty and disgusting parts in it. Just read Judges or Exodus and you will read about a man who allows his daughter to be raped and how Moses commited genocide. Look it up. If you believe that is the word of god, then he must be crazy!

Hi. I was just wondering what the differences between these two religions were and when I say "differences" I mean differences in history, beliefs, ceremonies like marriage, funerals, myths, etc. Also, what are some common rituals that occur during a Protestant service opposed to a Catholic service?

And please give specific reasons if you can.

Also, I use the word "could" to avoid a debate over the inteligence of animals, which would only lead away from the point of the question.

I've noticed that when someone asks a question about God or Christianity that folks on here seem to be very condescending. Why do those of you who answer these questions automatically think the person asking them is NOT a Christian or doesn't believe in God? Could be it's someone who just wants to hear other opinions.

I'm a Christian and believe totaly in the Word of God.I know eventually science catches up with theology but what have people found for proof of the creation.I know some people who are not believers like I am and I would like to present them with some hard evidence that may sway them into the fact of creation and away from the THEORY of elolution.

Note:This is not a debate!I know the truth and I will not be led away from God....I just want to know what is out there to show the non-believer.

ok everyone needs to get over themselves and do religion on their own f'ing time we have bigger problems then f'ing god, personally i think god doesnt want us to waste time worshiping him and lsitining to some f up priest that thinks he knows the path of life. i think god would want us to think about the world and the environment and climate change. Also maybe not going into a war............. post your comments and tell me im going to hell(typical christian response)

we came from monkeys, it says that monkeys and human beings came from a common ancestor, or is it willful denial of the facts?

I mean, I've seen the bunny out of a hat trick before, and it sure isn't in the Bible...now there's a real miracle.

Instead, we have men getting up from graves 3 days later. Ugh, seen enough zombie movies....
