I want to repeat something I said in an earlier posting
My maternal grandmother was Presbyterian. The family moved to a small community in Texas where there were 2 churches, not Presbyterians. Ministers from both churches called on the family.
One spoke very disparagingly of the other church.
When he left, my grandmother said, "I can tell you one thing, we are not going to his church."
I heard a priest tell of a family in East Texas who converted to Catholicism. What made them inquire into the Catholic faith is that they knew a Catholic family that never had anything unkind or catty to say about someone else's faith.
Shouldn't we all realize that when we speak ill of other religions we do not reflect well on ourselves or on our own faith?

Our lives and the way we treat others are the best testimony we can offer. We are not saved by works, it's true, but our works can help to bring others to the Lord. Anyone will turn his back on someone who starts out from a position of contempt. Jesus didn't look down on people from a lofty height; He got right in the midst of them, and talked to every person as if they were His brother or sister. So should we all.

All religions have much more that bring them together then drive them apart. I "preach" that on here all the time. I had a friend from India who was a skih, we seldom spoke of religion but one day he was telling me about how he spend his Sunday's and that he went to church every Sunday. At that time there was no Skih church or temple, (don't know what they are called ). And so I asked him about that and he said "I can go to any church", "as long as God is there." And can't we all?

Amen to that.

Nice story.
I think that no matter how you get treated though, you need to follow your heart and the truth. Being with the 'in' crowd will only get you so far for so long.
