Yep, that's true. They believe that he is an exalted man. That he has a body much like ours. They forget the little fact that Jesus said that God is spirit. They believe he once lived on a planet/world much like earth. He had experiences, grew, learned, did good works and earned his Godhood. They believe that we can do the same. Of course, none of this is backed by the Bible or even the Book of Mormon, it all comes from their founding leaders.
Saying that Jesus is God and he has a resurrected body. Isn't the same as what the LDS believe. They believe that Jesus and God both have bodies and are two separate people. What they believe about Jesus and God is very different than what Christians believe.

Mormons believe these things about God: that He has not always been the Supreme Being of the universe, but attained that status through righteous living and persistent effort. They believe God the Father has a “body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s.” Though abandoned by modern Mormon leaders, Brigham Young taught that Adam actually was God and the father of Jesus Christ.

yes, they believe there is only a difference of degree of exaltation between people, angels, and gods. Some posters mentioned Jesus: the difference is Christians believe that Jesus was God who adopted a human nature, which human nature was essentially different from his godly nature. Mormons believe that God was a man on another planet, with other people; he (and his wives) were raised from the dead on that other planet and exalted by their own God (who himself is a man too and had previously been exalted, etc) into godliness. It goes back (and forward, I suppose) forever. see link for LDS site with quote

Mormons believe that if you are good then you get to become a god in heaven. Men become gods and women are enternally pregnant, and get to make spiritual babies. My mom's like that's not heaven.

I am a new member but thus far I find that some of us do, and others do not.
I have not formed an opinion on this matter yet.

Truthfully yes, that does explain his origins and why he really knows us so well. Even God had to come from somewhere.
