I just don't see the reasoning. What do you lose by believing in a God. Whereas, if you are atheist, and there happens to be a God after death, you lose out on the going to heaven thing. Its a gamble not to but win-push scenario to believe in something.

...or should I just give up and go on casting my wiccan circles in peace? I'm beginning to think it is better to give up. Non-Christians, any advice? Christians, anything?

Bright Blessings,

Just think about it. Every thing has a code. If it all started from a puddle of goo then who wrote the code for the puddle of goo to exist?

What is the one area that Satan seems to get you to slip up the most?
If we can recognize this/these area/areas we can bring them under the blood, and deal with them so they are not such an issue.

Mine is finances. I have always been terrible with finances, so I have other people deal with them. I would like to be able to handle them so I am giving this to God right now.

Will you join me and give your Achilies Heel to God?

I have a question. Why make the unborn child pay for your stupid mistake of not using proper protection when having sex? And if you get pregnant by rape, why can't you give the kid up for adoption. Do you know how many people in this country are infertile and are devistated because they can't have children of their own? Maybe these children were concieved so that you can give them a chance to be parents. Who are you to decide whether this child lives or dies? To me that seems very selfish.

Mormon missionaries are generally cordial, and they don't get out to go door-to-door any earlier than 9:00 am, so the idea that they're rude or that they wake people up too early, or anything like that.

People sometimes express frustration at being interrupted and having to answer the door and talk to Mormon missionaries, but missionaries generally go away when asked to, and you don't have to open your door to them if you don't want to, so this makes little sense to me.

If anything, people should have a positive attitude towards Mormon missionaries. These young men take 2 years from their life to spread a message which they feel has made them happier, healthier people, and which they think could help you out as well. They're not arrogant for thinking their religion is the only true one (Christians think Jews have it wrong, but that doesn't mean they think Jews are stupid, or whatever), and they're doing something they think will make you happier, so shouldn't you be grateful?

Religion is founded on sexual desire (lust). I think that's damn true! Particularly in the practices of faith, in rituals, church services, holy days with song and dance, music and art, in the scents, colours and images of religion, there is both expression and gratification of lust. Priests and nuns are continuously surrounded by an environment where the battle against lust creates its own peculiar stimuli. Cool, quiet spaces, decorations and sculptures, singing choir boys, female clothing, the perfume of incense, are all stimuli for sweet sinful thoughts and deeds of love. Pop singers, swinging their hips on MTV, may well have begun their careers during church service. The spiritual has its source in sexual desire. And that is perhaps one of the main underlying reasons why religion continues to appeal.

OK THIS IS MY OWN PERSONAL THEORY, I HAVE NO SOLID SCIENTIFIC PROOF OF IT. BUT I THINK THE WORLD CAME ABOUT BECAUSE THERE WERE OTHER LIVING WORLDS BEFORE OURS. SOOOO WHEN OUR EARTH BECAME INHABITABLE DUE TO THE POSITION OF THE SUN AND WHAT NOT (WHICH PROBABLY TOOK MILLIONS OF YEARS TO COME ABOUT) AND ONCE THIS HAPPENED...PERHAPS MILLIONS OF YEARS LATER PART OF THE OTHER WORLDS DIED OFF OR MAYBE BLEW UP OR HOWEVER YOU WANT TO IMAGINE A WORLD ENDING, AND THOSE PARTS HIT EARTH. SOOO PUT TWO AND TWO TOGETHER. A HEALTHY INHABITABLE EARTH AND FRAGMENTS OF LIFE FROM ANOTHER EARTH TOUCHING. SO THEN HERE WE GO AGAIN BILLIONS OF YEARS LATER WE'VE GOT EVOLUTION IN PROGRESS. RESULTING IN WHAT WE ARE NOW TODAY..

JUST MY OWN THEORY...

Certain philosophers have surveyed the world's great religions, from Christianity to Zoroastrianism, and discovered that a common spiritual river runs through them all. This river is called the "perennial philosophy," and it consists of three interconnected currents or principles.

1. A greater reality exists that underlies the ordinary world of things and lives and minds.

2. In each person there exists something similar to, or even identical with, this greater reality.

3. The ultimate goal of human life is to realize this greater reality.
