Religion is founded on sexual desire (lust). I think that's damn true! Particularly in the practices of faith, in rituals, church services, holy days with song and dance, music and art, in the scents, colours and images of religion, there is both expression and gratification of lust. Priests and nuns are continuously surrounded by an environment where the battle against lust creates its own peculiar stimuli. Cool, quiet spaces, decorations and sculptures, singing choir boys, female clothing, the perfume of incense, are all stimuli for sweet sinful thoughts and deeds of love. Pop singers, swinging their hips on MTV, may well have begun their careers during church service. The spiritual has its source in sexual desire. And that is perhaps one of the main underlying reasons why religion continues to appeal.

It's very easy to assert that I'm "wrong" but can you prove it? No, you can't *chuckles*

Probably some of the most obvious reasons youre wrong youre leaving out on purpose.

Not all churches are catholic churches like youve described. And I harldy find that a place to get aroused in. What song and dance are you speaking of? Our church celebrates easter and Christmas and there is no dancing involved. Sometimes people do dance to the music during worship a bit but it is harldy sexual in nature. Worship is all about showing adoration for God, not other people. I fail to see how that is arousing.

What about worship music do you find sexually arousing? Especially compared to lyrics off any random song from MTV!!!!

Art? What ART? Any pictures or scupltures you find in a Christian church I promise you will not be arousing. Unless you find something arousing about Jesus sitting at the last suppoer table with his disciples arousing?

Scents, colors, and images? Umm, ok.

Rituals? You find taking communion arousing? Hmm.

Singing choir boys? Well if you find that arousing, that sounds more like a personal problem.

Female clothing? What else are they supposed to wear? In any event women are taught to dress modestly, not sexually.

Incense? Thats OT dude, Christian churches dont burn incense. I think youre thinking of the pagan religions.

Nothing about pop singers lives nor what they do on stage resembles nor what is in their lyrics has anything to do with what is taught in church.

The Bible, contrary to the world, very strictly teachess us sex is only supposed to be between man and wife. The reason why religion always has appeal is because there are lots of people seeking God. If people just wanted sex, there are plenty of ways of gratifying that desire that have nothing to do with church. Church is all about serving God and your fellow man by preachinga and teaching the Gospel and baptizing believers in Jesus' name.

My old friend Pastor Richard Wurmbrand(now with the Lord) loved Jesus with all of his heart and would not deny Him as he passed 14 long years in prison under both Nazi and Communist rule in Romania for being a Messianic Jew...He was often tortured as much as 17 hours a day....Yet he loved his captors, those that beat him with rubber truncheons, jammed red hot pokers into the flesh and muscle of his bare back, leaving large holes that were never to heal over....and many other tortures that would make you sick to even hear of......He was not experiencing any feeling of lust only love for the ones who did their best to make him turn away from his Savior... He continued to preach to them about Jesus and they continued to torture him....He eventially was released from prison, being more than ever convinced of the love that Jesus had for him.

If it's founded on lust, its purpose is power. And as is comically shown in Lysistrata, those who control sex control everything.
