People sometimes ask me how can I keep going on? How can I be so strong? I have had many bad things happen to me. I also am not at all well. But I have survived because of God. God's love saw me threw. I grow stronger because of my faith not in spite of it.

In our religion we can ask Goddess for an intervention but sometimes that isn't going to change the problem. Life isn't measured by years but how well you embraced the time you have. I'm not a person who believes in Karma because that doesn't provide enough freewill for me.

Maybe one person dying young will motivate someone to find the cure for what took the child or friend? Maybe we shouldn't try to save everyone. Often there are children who have to spend years of suffering or mental illness that shouldn't have been saved "just because"!

I don't believe that a loving and caring God and Goddess would let people be hurt or die as a test to see if we still love them no matter what. So maybe there shouldn't be any answer put forth to a question that shouldn't be asked? Or maybe all these things came about as a result of polution and we need to ask why we have allowed polution and the laws to fix the problem not matter when it should.

There are some great musing here!

and I know many who have turned away from a God for similar reasons, I can't think of anything more terrible than the loss of a child especially a 3 month old angel!
I was brought up to believe in a loving Father figure and that children were a gift from him to be loved and cherished!
What Loving father gives a gift to a child and then seeing how much they love the gift snatches it away again? Then has a servant tell the child it wasn't there fault he just wants you to learn a lesson! All I learnt from that was that this God was a cruel spiteful being and being threatened with Hell and Damnation by so many of his other servants just strengthens that picture!
You believers can keep your Father I don't want him in my life!

Bad things happen regardless of any religious belief. No God has any control over life or what happens to an individual. Religion is a good way for people to trust in something, have hope and faith in something, so the bad days seem better when they ask God to help them, or guide them. No matter whether that "something" exists, it's giving them something to rely on, and if that helps them to be strong, then no one should get in the way of that.

Everything happens for a reason. Some of us learn from these experiences while some of us blame God. He does not let bad things happen. Life happens to people. God is always there for you though when you need Him. Pray for this answer and don't let people tell you there is no God. He is very real!

Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

If they are believers in Christ our Saviour, then it is by Gods will.

Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

"bad things" and "good people" are judgment calls. That bad thing today, may be the lesson learned to save someones life tomorrow. And as far as I know their was only one "good" person, that ever walked the earth, Jesus Christ. Everybody else is a sinner.

Matthew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits.

If the people you are talking about do "good" and still follow Christ, then those bad things are just building blocks that a follower of Christ will recognize.

A little about me, I am 30 years old. I've lived in 27 different places. parents divorced. I lived a life of crime, lust, sin, violence. I could never call myself good. but I can say my experience has taught me how to depend on the One True God. And now that all those troubles have passed, I'm in a postion to understand alot of peoples problems and communicate clearly how God's will has worked on me.

Hope this helps, Good luck and God bless you and your family and friends.

There is a good book that answers this question, called Why Bad Things Happen To Good People.

It was written by a Rabbi named Kushner, and was a best seller. The author's son died when he was young, and he and his wife found themselves asking your very question.

What he concluded was that God is not in control of all things. He created gravity so that we might not fly away, yet gravity leads to many deaths each year from people falling, etc.

Does God cause people to fall? According to Kushner, no. Did God want his son to die? Again, no. But Rabbi Kushner believed with all his heart that God gives us strength, and that God mourns with us.

In our times of need, God is with us. That is the miracle; that when times can't get any more difficult, there is a presence, a light, that helps us find peace and strength.

The truth is that god doesn't let bad things happen to people and he doesn't let good things happen to people either, he can't because he doesn't exist.

The fact that these people are very good people and are still Christians is proof that god has nothing to do with the bad things that are happening. Their faith has made no difference to their luck.

My opinion is that bad things just happen and good things just happen. It's all down to how lucky you are, simple as that. Or the luck of the devil, as they say.

Sometimes the phrase "Things happen for a reason" can be hard to hear but I truly do believe it.

To endure bad experiences makes one become who they are. Life is full of good and bad, how we live our lives through the struggles and the joyful times molds us into who we are.

God has a way of making things happen in such a way that we can choose to learn from and with his will, become better people.
