God has really been talking to me and nearly throwing a brick at me especially lately for this one thing that I don't want to give up. I say 'don't want to' because I know 'I can't' is a lie. I am still a smoker. This brings me alot of guilt and I want to put cigarettes down and I feel God pushing really hard then I see this question posted and I can't continue to avoid it. So, if I'm not ready to do this, then even if I turn it over to God I'll still smoke because I'm not ready to put the habit down. In other words I can say all day long that I give it to Him but if I don't have the necessary faith to really turn it over to Him it will be for nothing.
So I guess the first thing I would need to turn over would be doubt. Then giving up my habit would be easy right?
Could you please lift me up to be ready to give up smoking? I really want to but I'm scared. You are another vessel God has used to reach me with this. I believe that.

Where would I begin? I must have more Achilles' Heels than I have heels. I was born with a terrible temper, and I have struggled all my Christian life to gain mastery of it. And God has cooled my savage brow, but I do sometimes still shoot my mouth off and repent after. This is something I'm working on now. I believe the Lord is leading me through my time of personal testing. He is making me stronger, even to resist myself. I heard a sermon this morning on "forgiveness as an act of faith", and I knew I was being spoken to. So Brother, I will pray for you, and if you can spare a moment, pray for me too, that we may both become closer to Christ and better stewards over our lives.

Trust
I always have had a hard time turning things over to God. I pray about leaving it in his hands, and I find myself continually worrying about it. That means I am not trusting God. He tells in his word that he will take care of the birds, and the lilies in the fields how much more does he care for us. I fight with this all the time. So I would have to say Trust is my Achilles heel.
Jesus is Lord

I have many places I can and try to improve upon. However we will most likely not succeed in becoming perfect in this life. We are here to learn how to control our lusts. Money ,sex, or hate full feelings are but a few of the more common ones. I suppose there are a little bit of those feelings in all of us.

Amen brother and we will pray for you. Our escape is TV, computer sleep food staying up really late and being idle with our time. God is dealing with the both of us when I would wake up I would RUN to the computer to see what messages I got but NOW we dedicated the morning to Jesus and read Scripture and give the day to the Lord in my grandmas time it was offer the day to the Lord. I have greatly limited my computer time and my husband is being more careful what he sees on the television set. We surrender everything to God because scripture says to thanks for the reminder your posts are very good Peace be with you.

I think you have to realize the one sin that can bring down even an angel is pride. What you think is Satan slipping you up is just you not having an education in finance. Me struggling with long division isn't sinful, but someone who knows they are better than me in long division and rubbing my face in it is sinful(for them). But yeah I got plenty of them.

I have two heels and, seemingly, two Achilles heels :( Finances and relationships with the opposite sex. My church has a finance class that is taught every quarter. I'll be jumping into the next one. Relationships with the opposite sex.. God and I are working diligently on that one :)

There are 2 themes right here. One is THE Antichrist himself, who would be somebody, no longer a non secular group. ("Muslims" are "off the hook: for that one. ) yet right it incredibly is likewise the spirit of Antichrist, as pronounced in scriptures. anybody who teaches that Jesus isn't the Savior, no longer the 2nd person of God's Holy Trinity, and not the actual embodiment of God, ... has the spirit of Antichrist. Muslims DO extra wholesome that standards, yet you're actually not on my own. Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and a superb type of different cults coach the comparable component. Be as dissatisfied as you want. yet seek for actuality first.

Bro....we really are alike....I have a problem with the same thing. Because I have a real problem with numbers. (dyslexic numbers).
Heavenly Father I lift up mine and Stone's finances to You....show us how to deal with them appropriately. And for all the other people who are putting their Achilles' heels here...we lift them up to you to give us wisdom in dealing with each and every situation. In Jesus name. Amen.
