we came from monkeys, it says that monkeys and human beings came from a common ancestor, or is it willful denial of the facts?

Gary, are you incapable of reading? I said SCIENCE SAYS, I didn't say "the bible says".

You religious are the ones that keep saying "science says we came from monkeys" when it doesn't.

Please learn to read.

CC, I don't care what your bible says. I don't care what your god says. I don't care what you think is right according to the bible.

Get it?

I'm asking why you can't understand that science does not say we came from monkeys.

You need to learn to read too.

mntn, it doesn't say we came from apes either. It says we came FROM A COMMON ANCESTOR.

man, its like beating people on the head.

Augustine, actually, yes there is. You just won't accept it because its not a "half man half ape". Its many different steps.

Eds, I have a background in biology in university. Can you claim the same? Yes, it does say that we came from a common ancestor. I think YOU are the one not paying attention.

Mark, even your fellow creationists don't claim what you just did. Evolution is NOT a hypothesis. Even your fellow creationists know its called a scientific theory, even if they can't get the definition of scientific theory correct. At least they don't resport to lying like you just did.

SoCal, you know... the first part of that I was ready to argue. But then you had to lower yourself to calling evolution a religion and completely invalidated everything you said. Once again, you couldn't answer the question and chose to resort to baiting.

Personally, I think they're out of their minds. So, it's hard to reason with people like that. If they admitted to the overwhelming evidence, then they'd have to accept that they're full of sh*t, which admittedly most people never want to do.

I never said we came from monkey's while on this board.

I do know some people were taught that in school though - many, many years before you were probably born. That was an original theory to evolution.

Of course - saying that religious people have a mental defect is a denial of facts. It must be just simpler to insult people then to have a conversation - regardless of whether evidence exists for your insults or not.

First of all science says nothing of the kind. Some scientists believe it, but science does not say it.

Now that I have clarified that point, let me just say that it is irrelevant whether evolutionists think that we descended from apes, monkeys, or some common ancestor that we supposedly share with some simian. It makes no difference. I know that I am not descended from some sort of non-human. I can't speak for you.

maybe you got a real answer from Bandy, but it is wrong. Most Christian schools are Catholic, and they certainly teach evolution.
Most religious people have no problem with evolution.
But in any case if you asked your average street person who was not very religious about evolution they would say we descended from the monkeys (or apes, or whatever). So the problem is not a mental defect in religious people's minds, it's possibly a defective educational system, or a society that dumbs popular science down. Or scientists who can't be bothered to explain it properly. etc

It's not a defect. You should try to understand that different people use different forms of logic. Some religous people, can't think deductively. They are very good at inductive logic, but that is not the best way to understand science. Some peoples minds are mathematical, others are lingual. Some can remember directions by using a compas and a map, others use left and right from a known point.

The people that you refer to, FEEL that you are insulting them. It's not a rational process, but that doesn't mean they are intellectually challenged. It means you have to learn a different language.

Darwin's theory of evolution is simply that a "theory" it is not proved and there is a missing link remember.

I understand science perfectly and i understand that even the greatest scientific minds on earth cannot disprove the existence of God. There are plenty of Scientific facts in my holy book. That we all come from water, that the earth was made from gases etc. God is the biggest scientist of them all.

Show me the facts, show me the facts!

Yes, we understand, we understand that Evolution is constantly changed as science learns more. We also understand that when you finish the quest for answers to the beginnings of life, you will probably end up a Theist! Evolution is a hypothosis that if far from meeting the criteria for scientific theory. When will evolutionist's admit that?

Neither one. What you call a "fact," Darwin himself called a theory. And to this day, evolution continues to be debated even among scientists, so it hardly qualifies as a fact.

Is it a mental defect in some non-believers that they can't understand the difference between fact and theory? Or is it willful denial of basic scientific principles?

Moiraes,
Science says no such thing. It is merely an old outdated theory. It has more holes than swiss cheese according to what I have read in some science journals. It is odd that you have not read those as well as the ones supporting it... Or have you? Have a great week.
Thanks,
Eds
